pelhamlocal Posted January 17, 2013 #1 Posted January 17, 2013 I don't know what it is, but it seems awesome, and wanted to share it.
Woodside7878 Posted January 17, 2013 #2 Posted January 17, 2013 I wonder if the bus is going into production if it meets the regulations, I think?
RFC Posted January 17, 2013 #3 Posted January 17, 2013 Looks like a pair of RTS had a kid lol anyways all jokes and stuff aside. Will this go into production? What Company will own it? I wonder.
aemoreira81 Posted January 17, 2013 #5 Posted January 17, 2013 Alternative to the cutaway bus for small markets perhaps, if it goes into production?
Orion VII 4 Life Posted January 17, 2013 #6 Posted January 17, 2013 Is that a form of the Millennium RTS? Looks pretty good...
Turbo19 Posted January 17, 2013 #7 Posted January 17, 2013 Did you (pelhamlocal)take this photo? This vehicle is actually produced by a company know as Brevi Bus, whose goal was to produce a "Advance Rural Low Floor Vehicle. Below is a link to their site. http://brevibus.wix.com/brevi-research-project Below is a quote from a news article from 2010 when this project was in the prelimenary stages. Link to the souce is also provided. A new bus engineered and built in Putnam County, Fla., was unveiled last week. U.S. Congressman John Mica (R-FL) joined residents, local leaders and state representatives for the first public presentation and roll out of the new transit vehicle designed to service rural communities and special-needs passengers. Rep. Mica told the Palatka Daily News that although he has been critical of the stimulus and deficit spending, this project does not fall into either of those categories. Money for the project, amounting to $3 million, came from federal gas taxes. To read additional reporting on the new vehicle, click here. In 2003, Putnam County sought to update their vehicle fleet, which contained 10 aging buses. Their last new bus purchase occurred in 1989 and some vehicles had more than 500,000 miles of use. In 2005, Rep. Mica was successful in securing first-ever federal support for new Putnam Ride Solution buses. However, after an extensive search, Putnam County failed to locate a vehicle that met its needs. More than 50 percent of the county roads were unpaved, so a large bus or traditional passenger vehicle would not meet local requirements. The county made the decision at that time to pursue development of a locally engineered vehicle. A special congressional waiver was needed and finally obtained in 2008 to allow for the research and development of this new vehicle. With local support, the low-floor Brevi Bus was designed to be shorter, more maneuverable, more rugged and more accessible to those with disabilities. "The resulting Brevi Bus is a great success and a testament to the ingenuity and vision of our residents," Congressman Mica said. "Like Putnam County, many rural areas have many unpaved roads which still need access to public transportation, and these new Brevi Buses will fill this unique local and national need. Maybe most exciting is that there are plans to manufacture these buses in Putnam County." Cait Sith Posted January 17, 2013 #8 Posted January 17, 2013 Is that a form of the Millennium RTS? Looks pretty good... Nope.
jgood6195 Posted January 17, 2013 #10 Posted January 17, 2013 It's hideous.. Reminds me of the Orion II.
theaveragejoe Posted January 17, 2013 #11 Posted January 17, 2013 This thing has been around since like 2009 or 2010 I remember seeing it on CPTDB.ca then.
East New York Posted January 18, 2013 #12 Posted January 18, 2013 If im not mistaken, that may be the Nova/MTS RTS Evolution design. It's definitely the same window supplier, but I think only a few of these were made. Don't quote me, but I will find out to be sure. It's not new though.
Culver Posted January 25, 2013 #14 Posted January 25, 2013 Just noticed this thing. Definitely looks to be useful for what it proposes to be. That suspension definitely looks up to the job, though I wonder how it'll handle with twenty 250-pound people on it.
isaacsorden Posted February 28, 2013 #16 Posted February 28, 2013 I don't know what it is, but it seems awesome, and wanted to share it. IT LOOK LIKE A RTS BUS
4P3607 Posted March 1, 2013 #17 Posted March 1, 2013 IT LOOK LIKE A RTS BUS Umm... No Shit... It doesn't really look at one, Just the front curve is the same. It looks like another one of those carrier vans lol
Turbo19 Posted March 1, 2013 #18 Posted March 1, 2013 Lol, I thought this was forgotten, never to be brought up again. Now that I looked at the bus again, how tall is this thing. Seems no taller than 8 feet.
qjtransitmaster Posted March 22, 2013 #19 Posted March 22, 2013 I don't know what it is, but it seems awesome, and wanted to share it. This bus is sexy and it opens up many possibilities. And intrigues me so much.

(and a transit agency in Florida uses these only)
Turbo19 Posted March 22, 2013 #21 Posted March 22, 2013 A video says this bus is a "Brevi Bus." (and a transit agency in Florida uses these only) With that said, it is possible there could have been a cooperation or other relation between the two entitiies.
