Considering the fleet shortage, that would make sense. But everyone was saying it was beginning normal service today and subway time would back that up.

I find it hard to believe that they would transfer an NTT just to not use it in revenue service. If they needed a spare, I feel they would use an R46 over a transferred R160 considering the R160 could be used in revenue service elsewhere. You may want to check up on it because almost every other R160 on that list has been out once since its transfer.

Every NTT fleet has spares, I'm sure when they did those C/J summer swaps 207th did not run every single R160 they had in service at once. I wouldn't be surprised if Pikin shop is filled up with R46s getting inspected & getting worked on. Between the 179s being pulled from service a second time and the 160s being transferred to the , the R46s were single handily holding down the fort on the and lines, so Pikin probably fell behind on inspections. Thus, many 46 sets are not available for service. Edited June 12, 2020 by trainfan22

My point is that it should have run once this week as every other set has. If the R46s have been behind on inspections, that would just be more of a reason to run more R160s now that they have all been transferred.

I guess I have to..... A car transfer does not mean it's gonna run in service. It means the set is moved and it will be used for any type of purpose. Instead of revenue, that set could of been used as a training set and put to the side for maintenance or operation purposes.

If they are short on equipment why would they do that? And why use a more reliable NTT instead of an R46?

Matter fact an R160 was taken out of service yesterday because of a door malfunction. So you're pretty much saying even though R46s have their own issues don't worry about the R160 that just had a door problem.
