CPBO Posted August 31, 2014 Share #30 Posted August 31, 2014 What happened to the plan to make CP an all EXP depot? And let one of the biggest cng stations sit idle?
GojiMet86 Posted August 31, 2014 Share #31 Posted August 31, 2014 And let one of the biggest cng stations sit idle? That's the part that never made sense. Where would all the C40LF go if CP went all express?
QM1to6Ave Posted August 31, 2014 Share #32 Posted August 31, 2014 And let one of the biggest cng stations sit idle? Great point...I guess whoever came up with that plan didn't think it all the way through lol (or whoever posted about it on here was wrong). I wonder if the the MTA ever considered buying CNG MCI's. B35 via Church Posted August 31, 2014 Share #33 Posted August 31, 2014 Why is Yonkers depot closing? I haven't seen any posts about this....... As someone else on here said a while back, YON was never meant to be permanent (since the MTA took over "Liberty Lines express", which was an affiliate of Liberty Lines Transit).... Also, the city of Yonkers wants to redevelop that area around MNRR Yonkers... so that's two things that's against any further longevity of the depot there..... Gotham Bus Co. Posted August 31, 2014 Share #34 Posted August 31, 2014 ...he said that he heard that in January, the route is reverting back to the College Point Depot, although just a rumor, not a certainty. Maybe that driver was just trying to start a rumor. It wouldn't be the first time.
traildriver Posted August 31, 2014 Author Share #35 Posted August 31, 2014 Maybe that driver was just trying to start a rumor. It wouldn't be the first time. That is possible, but based upon the other posts here, he was not the only one to hear of it....

Gotham Bus Co. Posted August 31, 2014 Share #37 Posted August 31, 2014 The Q-50 and the Q-64 are going back to CP. Starting the winter pick. Has the union accepted a pick reflecting that?
limitednyc Posted August 31, 2014 Share #38 Posted August 31, 2014 Pick hasn't gone to the union as of yet. It will some time in Sept.

Orion VII 4 Life Posted September 1, 2014 Share #44 Posted September 1, 2014 I just heard some very interesting stuff about Yonkers. If it closes there's gonna be a new home for those routes and it's not Eastchester!

It makes since for the Bx23 to go to CP anyway. The old QBX1 used to have trips that stayed within Co-op City. Also the Bx23 and Q50 trips interlined I believe. BM5 via Woodhaven Posted September 2, 2014 Share #49 Posted September 2, 2014 It makes since for the Bx23 to go to CP anyway. The old QBX1 used to have trips that stayed within Co-op City. Also the Bx23 and Q50 trips interlined I believe. If that happened, It could be more efficient though if every single Bx23 run started and/or ended with a Q50 trip. I know Pelham Bay is not that far in terms of deadhead, but still.
