Thank you for THAT update. A few of those buses were NOT scrapped...then scrapped...then stored...then back to scrapped. So that's probably why those buses were not added. Thanks for that.

Future ENY OP Posted November 2, 2021 Share #3433 Posted November 2, 2021 Please disregard 3800. Bus is not scrap nor retired. Bus was in the shop for 4 days. Just spotted back in service this morning on the M42. Couldn’t get a clear pic. (Currently driving).

I have seen longer periods of inactivity time, at least based on information widely available. It would make sense for the MTA or NYCT to announce retirements of their fleet, so that the public can be informed.

I'm really happy to hear the #2926 (aka NYBS #1803) is being preserved! It's the last former private bus lines buses to be retired.

Oh, that is too damn cool. Whoever is responsible for some of these perfect paint jobs (5227, 9207), I'm damn impressed too. Reminds you what our CMFs can, should, and do not do.

What gives besides the hot exhausts? It is not. A standard bus lasts an average of 12 yrs. There are also a lot less 2008 CTs than 2004-07 CLs, so the logical thing is to retire buses that are in retirement age that have less parts to deal with and are more problematic to work on in order to cut on maintenance costs.

I wouldn’t put that far of a stretch. Bus hasn’t operated in 2 days doesn’t necessarily mean retirement. Look what happened to 3800. Bus was in shop for 4 days than it popped back into service yesterday on the M42.
