Good point. Then again aren't those MTA bus O5s supposedly to be phased out over the next few years? To me LIB is what SI was a few years back by borrowing other depot's buses since they couldn't maintain their own buses.

Finally, if Veiola cuts some routes, maybe there won't be a need for so many buses.

Most all the O5's will be gone by the summer.

Wait but there were C40LFs @ WF before. I Dont see the need for it as training there. probably to go with the new fleet. I guess.

Training is needed. The only C40LF to see revenue service out of WF is 230. 847 is for training, but may stick around for a bit.

I was saying didn't WF have C40LFs before 230....

like 875, 911, 912, 923, and some other C40LFs before?

But why? They can't use #230 for training before putting it into service?

One training bus isn't really sufficient for a whole depot to train on. Hence CP having 230 and 801.

Those other buses were Zerega training buses. Not WF buses.

Definitely, especially since there's about 900 drivers that need to train on it eventually, and about 500 immediately.

Oh and BTW, I don't know if this counts as a move/transfer but i went to Freshpond today. As I was trying to figure out how to get to the actual maintenance building, I saw the "Pheonix"(no clue if I spelled that right) Mobile Command Center bus in the storage building. What's up with that?? Truthfully, I don't even know what the really use that bus for other than the rodeo. I would think that they would use it in emergency blackout type situations, but every depot has a backup generator for such occasions...

"The Phoenix"/Department of Buses MCC is activated during training, emergencies and such (Irene). The bus usually stays in Brooklyn. Often at East New York. By FP being Brooklyn Division Headquarters, it's no surprised to see the bus over there at times either.

But I'm like you my man..... Other than emergencies and some training sessions, I'm not sure what the bus is used for. Not even sure it is used for anything else.

Mci D4500 #2091 is @ ulmer park .

Of ALL bus moves within the past year, THIS one was a good move.

When I was in the city two weeks ago, I've seen #2040-2041, #2066-2096? running out of Meredith and I have to tell you...the TA rehabbed those buses. You could tell by listening to the engine and actually riding the bus. So for Ulmer Park to get this was a good move by the D.O.B. Whether if the bus is about to be scrapped or not.

Thanks for the find!

Most likely its a loaner it wont be there for long . And they will get their c40s late december - mid jan .
True. But wouldn't it make more sense to take CNG O5s from MTA bus/WF instead? I don't understand why they'd take a diesel bus when the entire fleet is CNG only. That's why it seems so odd to me.

Can't be a tripper, Flatbush doesnt have any B11 runs. Could be an operator playing with the signs as the B6 has a common piece with the B11.
Ok, wasn't sure if the B11 was one of the routes. But I still think it is strange if this is going to be longer than just a week for a loan.

5191 back in Flatbush saw it on the b41 Bergen beach bound .

Well that was short lived.

The whole reason they had the RTS' is because there are 20+ CNG O5's on loan to Nassau county.

Where have you been dude?
