Finally, a set of buses we dont have to hear 9000 busfans bitch about......
Forest Glen Posted March 8, 2011 Share #7 Posted March 8, 2011 It doesn't look as garrish as a NG.

Princelex Posted March 8, 2011 Share #11 Posted March 8, 2011 Charleston, from what I heard last. Anyone know what the bus no. for that LFS is? It looks like it would be Bus #8001
KNIGHTRIDER3:16 Posted March 8, 2011 Share #12 Posted March 8, 2011 Since the only issue that the Nova LFSA had was HVAC issues , I would suspect that these Smaller versions should fair well.
MattTrain Posted March 8, 2011 Share #13 Posted March 8, 2011 The NovaBus LFS series looks good to me in general, I think they look more sophisticated than the Orion VII Next Generations if you ask me.

Donald Posted March 8, 2011 Share #16 Posted March 8, 2011 I like this half of LFSA lol and is this Grand ave depot? I don't think the bus is at any MTA depot in the picture since the bus right next to it clearly is not owned by the MTA.

The picture is taken inside @ Nova Bus parent company - Prevost parts and service center facility in 201 South Avenue - South Plainfield, NJ. Donald Posted March 9, 2011 Share #18 Posted March 9, 2011 Why does the MTA buy buses from so many different companies? Maintenace costs are cheaper if you use one company. That's how airlines save money. They either have all Boeing or all Airbus fleets.
Joel Up Front Posted March 9, 2011 Share #19 Posted March 9, 2011 Airplanes =/= buses Plus, there are two models of Orion VII NGs rolling around, and all the old Orion VII OGs. They're not the same thing...
w8Hou Posted March 9, 2011 Share #20 Posted March 9, 2011 Why does the MTA buy buses from so many different companies? Maintenace costs are cheaper if you use one company. That's how airlines save money. They either have all Boeing or all Airbus fleets. Airlines and Buses dont even match. The problem is, MTA management has a very long idiotic history of buying one bus maker and one vehicle fits it all and it hurts their finances when you can get a competitive bid that actually saves money and get a good deal. MTA now recognized, competition is better than sole-sourcing. The test buses, if MTA's logic is correct... they maybe saving some money, maybe just in the short term period. They are still risking though....
