You have the to help as they go into South Brooklyn whereas the and don't. I would boost and service and call it a day. Technically, the to Metropolitian is suppose to be the UPTOWN version, Forest Hills is suppose to be DOWNTOWN version, of was it the other way?? IM SO CONFUSED!!I never mentioned that it's pernanent... you keep answering your own quesions.I don't think that's needed. You have the to help as they go into South Brooklyn whereas the and don't. Even though its not pernament its been over 2 months that the has been terminating at Chambers St and so far it has been doing well. gave me easier, faster access from Bushwick to Canal for the without waiting another 10+ minutes in Mnhtn for a .They should make the to Chambers permanent on weekends, maybe even extend it to Broad during GOs to help with the missing service below Brooklyn BridgeYes, thank you for mentioning that. Javier Posted November 12, 2015 Share #11079 Posted November 12, 2015 I have a question about a video I recently heard: It was a rerouted train that got sent up to Wakefield and returned back down to Manhattan, the announcements to Wakefield was like this: "This is a Wakefield bound train, via the line. The Next Stop Is, 233 St." The announcements to Manhattan was like this: "This is a Manhattan train, via the line. The Next Stop Is, 233 St." When the gets rerouted to Wakefield, is it technically via the or via the ?
Around the Horn Posted November 12, 2015 Share #11080 Posted November 12, 2015 Its wayyyyyy too long and not for public eyes Yeah,Especially after the Conquestors nonsense. It's sad because all I want to to do is read the list and see how many Weird reroutes are on there... The malicious people have to always ruin it for us, eh?

Javier Posted November 12, 2015 Share #11083 Posted November 12, 2015 Well, he is correct. The really should terminate Chambers St, because service between Essex and Broad St is short on the weekends, and with the no longer terminating at Broad St, heck why not? The MTA has nothing to lose.

The MTA has nothing to lose. You forgot that the can handle the entire BMT Nassau Street Line on its own during both weekdays and weekends. But yes, I agree that the weekend should permanently originate/terminate at Chambers Street, so it can offer Myrtle Avenue customers some more Midtown options and not just at Essex Street. Calvin Posted November 13, 2015 Share #11085 Posted November 13, 2015 At Grand Central-42 St and 14 St-Union Sq, weekday or weekend, there are workers with flashlights from the first to last end of the platform (both sides, North or South)
N6 Limited Posted November 13, 2015 Share #11086 Posted November 13, 2015 Before Jamaica Center opened what was the night time service pattern of the and ? Did one end at 71st Ave and one continue to 169th/179th?

The MTA has nothing to lose. The terminates at Broad 24/7 now. Headways between Essex & Broad is the same 10 minutes as anywhere else along the line, and throughout most of the system. Lower Nassau St would be just fine with the by itself

Did one end at 71st Ave and one continue to 169th/179th?They both went to 179th on the local tracks. At the time I believe the was the only one terminating at 71st. The did run to 71st for a bit but I think it followed the current ®'s scheduling.
Wallyhorse Posted November 13, 2015 Share #11090 Posted November 13, 2015 They should make the to Chambers permanent on weekends, maybe even extend it to Broad during GOs to help with the missing service below Brooklyn Bridge If you're going to do anything there, on weekends I'd have the instead of going to Chambers go to West 4th while the runs local with the . Yes, it involves the and having to cross over (northbound north of Broadway-Lafayette, southbound north of West 4th) and the having to cross to/from the express track north of 34th Street, however, this would be on WEEKENDS when service is not nearly as frequent and give those looking for 14th and 23rd on 6th Avenue a second train during those hours. This would actually be one stop LESS for the doing it this way and gives Broadway-Brooklyn riders on weekends transfers to the and the at Broadway-Lafayette and the latter lines plus the at West 4th. Otherwise, you can also use my idea for making the a full-time 24/7 line as noted in the Proposals/Ideas thread.
Javier Posted November 13, 2015 Share #11091 Posted November 13, 2015 I've been noticing recently that whenever something happens on CPW, a R160 magically gets turned into a train bound for 2nd Av, and it's been happening a lot recently during the AM rush hour. A few R68 trains terminate at 2nd Av during Rush Hour, and I don't know the exact reason why.

To think about it, I would also say make the go to either, Prospect Park OR Bay Parkway because there's a least chance of the old returning and this would in fact increase service for South Bklyn riders if service is needed to the Eastern Division.
