You do realize there’s little to no differences between them, right?

Trust me, the most randomest shit is separated from each other, like I don't know, 'R160A-1' and 'R160A-2'. What's the difference?

Number assignments are weird for the buses but then again it’s expected since it changes for every new bus order they get

1552 is on the Qm20 Super Express, going to guess that the MCI’s are breaking down more than usual.

I'm pretty sure they're short on buses in general. They've been borrowing both MCI and Prevost units from LaGuardia as of late. It's no different than what's been happening with CP taking Xcelsiors and Orions from LaGuardia on loan.

Has anyone been on an express bus that’s not on bus time and the interior info screens don’t show the route or make announcements?

Of course, if the bus goes off-route, then the bus doesn't appear on bus time. I think the express buses have the screens set up to after the last pick-up stop, they go blank or just play ads until they reach the first drop-off in Manhattan. I've had a guy that would toggle his destination sign to "MTA Bus" or "Not In Service" after last pick-up stop for whatever reason then proceed to kick us off at 6th Av/36th St because he was lazy. Or the bus sometimes just has a broken tracker.

#4162 is the worst NG I have ever rode. Every time it started moving, it was shaking and rattling, not to mention its powertrain sounded awful. I feel like it will be the next bus to retire.

Probably.

4162 is not even that bad. 4634 sounds the same

How many Mta buses still use fabric/cloth seats?

There are a few random Orion VII Next Gens running around that have the cloth seating on a few of the seats, I couldn’t tell you which numbers. Outside of express buses all the local fleets from 2011 and on were delivered with the hard seats.

Some 1200s have the soft covers on the seats as well.

Ahh classic 😂 I rode the Q25 the other day, the onscreen announcements on one bus wasn’t on. Also you have BOs not updating the signage for the right destination so sometimes you’d have Q25 saying LIRR station instead going to flushing or visé versa

Has farebeating ever gotten this bad? I was on a route and I watched everyone and I was the only one who paid to get on.

It's become culture. "Screw the (MTA) and your $2.90!". The same person a month later when service cuts because of no fare: "Screw the (MTA) and your $2.90!" and it goes on, and on, and on...
