gtNovaBusRTS9369 Posted January 13, 2012 Share #52 Posted January 13, 2012 Weren't the Xcelsiors supposed to be delivered before the Orions? This was the orignal plan but however it seems that they're trying to get all the buses in ASAP hence the reason for the XD40 & 3G coming in Simultaneously alongside the need to retire the older buses as they're 15+ yrs old already. After all the majority of them are behind their original delivery schedule anyway.
Burrstone Posted January 17, 2012 Share #53 Posted January 17, 2012 UP's delivery is being held up, they only have 4 bus.Something has to be changed or fixed on them.(not sure what) But they are doing the work before they are delivered. Any update on this? Are they still held up?

trainfan22 Posted February 1, 2012 Share #68 Posted February 1, 2012 4861 broke down with I assume is a teething issue on the B6 today. Bus was stuck in the middle of the road at Bay Parkway near 86th Street.

Princelex Posted February 2, 2012 Share #72 Posted February 2, 2012 Teething issues sure, but that's not impressive for a brand new bus to lose all power and be unmovable like that. Hope it doesn't become a trend. I hope not either. These buses are really great for this town and for all of these issues to be happening is scaring me. I really want New Flyer to win with this BT&E program but how can they win if they having all of these problems? Just pitiful.

Broadway Local Posted February 5, 2012 Share #74 Posted February 5, 2012 The ride on both XD40 and 3G were AMAZING!! Love both of them buses! XD40 and 3G Positive: - Comfortable and smooth Ride! (+5) - Excellent Fuel Economy! (+5) - Great Interior Lighting! (+5) - Great sound! (+5) - Less Vibrating! (+5) - Stylish! (+5) - More room space! (+5) - Accelerates! (+5) - Comfortable Braking! (+5) - Like them both buses! (+5) XD40 Negative: - Buses gets stuck! (-3) - The rear seating really needs to be spread because people put trash and cans at the sides! (-3) 3G Negative: - Back seating arrangement looks so awkward to me! (-2) - The seat cackles and makes sounds! (-2) - The rear swinging door sometimes does not close tight which causes buses to not move and delay the bus! (-2) Total Points of XD40 (out of 50): 44/50 Total Points of 3G (out of 50): 42/
