Queens Surface Posted June 8, 2012 Share #3 Posted June 8, 2012 Yes indeed it is the end to one of the more unique buses the MTA has inherited through the takeover, but they are really beat so it's really time for them.

Far Rock Depot Posted June 8, 2012 Share #7 Posted June 8, 2012 Ah, the last of the Green Lines. I remember when we got those. 50 WMATA rejects. 46 went to GBL and 4 went to QSC until they got their O5 CNGs and then the 4 went to GBL. They hauled a$$ in Neponsit and Riis Park! GojiMet86 Posted June 9, 2012 Share #13 Posted June 9, 2012 These aren't the last Orion V's on the MTA, right? They're just the last ones inherited from another company, right?
RailBus63 Posted June 9, 2012 Share #14 Posted June 9, 2012 These aren't the last Orion V's on the MTA, right? They're just the last ones inherited from another company, right? Correct - some of the 6000-6349 group will still be around until the next big 40-foot order comes in.
Far Rock Depot Posted June 18, 2012 Share #15 Posted June 18, 2012 I remember riding these as a kid on the Q22. I love the interior on these units. Do you remember the way the original green flip dot signs these had when we first got them? it kinda "phased" between signs. Not from left to right like the flip dot native to here, but how it looked like every letter phased to the next display's letter?
MHV9218 Posted June 19, 2012 Share #16 Posted June 19, 2012 Fantastic catches. I still can't believe these are leaving, thought they'd be around till the end of time. There a certain op who always has one or did you just get lucky?
