I went through what you’re going through..non-union electrician making $30 an hour with no benefits/pension..decided to make the jump and I def made the right choice..yea i had to work a lot of OT to make up the difference but now i have full coverage insurance and a prospective date when i can retire..did a year as a helper and got promo and above the $30 i was making before MTA..E&E is a hot section right now so i can see guys moving up quick 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

tprashad0719 Posted May 25, 2019 Author Share #340 Posted May 25, 2019 It's a tough choice for me because of my age and I'm currently 4 months working with another city agency...I get weekends off and all holidays with a solid schedule..it works out for me and my family and by moving to the MTA side you wont even see a weekend or solid schedules and you will be all over the city..if I got called when I didnt have a family it would of been a easy choice Trust me it hurts my head because EE sounds like a hard department to get into plus your off the tracks which is a huge plus 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Do you have a idea on how any of you did on the test and the spa ? You guys ain’t change your address or email , anything like that either right ? With the list numbers I’m guessing they graded it on how well you scored on test and thought u did on spa and contacted the need of people that come first come on the list they need.
