I think the 1999's are staying a bit longer. It'll mostly be 1997-98 RTS going and whatever's left of the 1995-96 batch.

 

Also forgot to add, 6238 is at Yukon.

They actually got something decent??? Won't be long now....

 

1283 at Gun Hill with corresponding decals. It is currently on the Bx26.

Those have been at SC for a very long time now. The other 3 have been tossed around as of late.

 

6773 and 6780 running out of Quill today.

 

Here's a good one: 1289 to TU from 126th. Not sure how permanent, I'm gonna check by the depot next time I pass by.

 

7424, 7426, and 7428 at SC.

 

 

Hasn't the EX-NYBS MCI's found their way to every MTAB depot except maybe LGA? They were even on SI for very short time a few years back weren't they?

That's a shock. I was told that artics could NOT run on the Bx26 due to a "dip" along Allerton Av. I forgot the intersection BUT that was what the operator told me and that time.

It's still in service I wonder why 1306 is still running CS does not need that bus. Does 1 bus really make a huge difference.

 

When it's between a bus ready for pullout or not, it does.

No one has seen it except for me of course :). It was on the Q31 last week. I just happen to catch 9905 on the Q25 but was already home.

 

Really? I wasn't aware of that bus even pulling out for close to a month...

It was going towards Jamaica on the Q31 around 7:30AM

I made this as an homework assignment for Statistics lol. Thought I'd post it for memories. (I still can't believe the ZF RTS's were at Gun Hill first.)

 

MTA NYCT April 1999 NovaBus RTS Roster

 

Fresh Pond Depot: 5055-5074 [20] (1999-2005)

 

East New York Depot: 4945-5024 [79] (1999-Present) *Note, ENY now has different numbers due to bus depot moves but they still have 4900 & 5000 Units.*

 

Queens Village Depot: 4900-4902, 4904-4944 [45] (1999-2004)

 

Jamaica Depot: 5145-5169 [24] (1999-2004) *Note, Jamaica Took Queens Village's 4900's in 2004 when Queens Village received Orion VII Hybrids. So now they have both 4900 & 5000 units*

 

126th Street Depot: 5025-5054 [30]

 

Manhattanville Depot: 4903 (Soon to be converted bus at the time), 5125-5144 [21] (1999-2004)

 

West Side Depot (Now Michael J. Quill Depot) : 5170-5188 [19]

 

Hudson Pier Depot: 5189-5204 [16]

 

Kingsbridge Depot: 5205-5249 [45]

 

Gun Hill Depot: 5075-5124 [50] (So this was the first depot with ZF Transmission RTS's... ???? #WhyBx)

Queens Village Depot: 4900-4902, 4904-4944 [45] (1999-2004)

 

Jamaica Depot: 5145-5169 [24] (1999-2004) *Note, Jamaica Took Queens Village's 4900's in 2004 when Queens Village received Orion VII Hybrids. So now they have both 4900 & 5000 units*

 

 

If I'm not mistaken this swap happened well after 2004

Jamaica sent QV the 9500s they had for those 4900s... It wasn't because of the Hybrids.. The 6400s weren't the real reason why the 4900s were shifted out... It was more a fleet age average thing... QV had the 9300s so it made sense to give them the 9500s and send the 4900s over to Jamaica to add to 5100s they already had... Basically give Jamaica as much 1999 Novas as they can get until they can get something else newer...

Ahh okay that does make sense because a fleet of a bunch of older RTS's and only 45 1999 RTS isn't really balanced, especially if they got hybrids before Jamaica Depot. Guess that's the same reason why Fresh Pond gave up their 5000's. They only had 20 of them & the rest of the RTS's were older just like Queens Village.

 

But with that little amount of 4900's, I guess I was lucky I caught one on the Q43 everytime my mom & I took it in queens when I was a kid.

The swap happened in 2005. Along with some route switching...
