4P3607 Posted April 10, 2012 Share #781 Posted April 10, 2012 I think trains are slower than every other one in the system.... I guess that means the is the fastest There seemed to be a delay on Manhattan bound side of the 59 St tube. I was on my bike coming on the bridge, and I was seeing manhattan bound 's backed up from entry point of the tunnel all the way to 36 Av. Probably signal problems, seems like almost every time I go thru the 59 St tube there are signal problems.

TwoTimer Posted April 11, 2012 Share #785 Posted April 11, 2012 There was a fire over on the brighton in the area of Church Av-Beverly Rd which destroyed some signal-related equipment in the area. The road went to hell, literally.

Brighton Express Posted April 15, 2012 Share #789 Posted April 15, 2012 (edited) is anyone missing the line? I don't miss the most recent one, but the old one, yes. Express, Local. I live at Cortelyou, and I never really liked to play it easy to get home from my Aunt's work on Union Square. I always took the to Pacific St for the to Church Av, then the to Cortelyou. Or just the to Church Av, and then home with the . I loved the so much because of those R40Ss, and on the weekend, sometimes the had them. I saw one on the once at Whitehall St one weekend when the was rerouted. I can always remember this distinct moment looking up from the near DeKalb and seeing the back of the , and another moment looking down form the and seeing the back of the . JubaionBx12+SBS Posted April 16, 2012 Share #790 Posted April 16, 2012 Contributed to the ridership of the line this weekend. One of the very few times I'll use the subway on weekends. These G/O's and bad headways annoy me.
TwoTimer Posted April 16, 2012 Share #791 Posted April 16, 2012 I still have no idea why the IRT west side runs 12 min headways on weekend, and it was a big brewhaha when the BMT/IND went from 8-10 mins. They don't dare do that to the except early mornings and evenings once the shoppers go home.

CDTA Posted April 21, 2012 Share #799 Posted April 21, 2012 Ok, ok, I know this is going way out there, and there are hundreds of reasons why it should be shot down, but how about, in order to not have to deal with the NIMBYs that block Astoria, and LGA, it goes through Rikers?

That'd turn the Astoria line into the most dangerous subway line, even if it didn't stop there. Someone in the prison would find a way down there. Maybe some one does a Dufresne with the pipes.
