MysteriousBtrain Posted September 27, 2014 Share #4351 Posted September 27, 2014 (edited) What a day for the NYC subway!!!! Today, a hijacker steals a R46 from the Jamaica yard, and because he didn't know about 75 footers not allowed on the BMT Eastern Division, he gets it stuck on the between Myrtle Avenue and Central Avenue. Because of this incident, the Lenox avenue line is shut down in order to recreate the 142 street junction and not delay the downtown and uptown . Also, gang members make a base at the South Ferry loops, and the NYPD goes after them, making the loops unusable for service. The South Ferry loops are not the only loops affected. The City Hall loop is unusable due to long term construction. And to top it off, it is 1986 all over again on the Manhattan Bridge with one difference: THERE IS NO SERVICE AT ALL. Reroute or suspend the Edited September 27, 2014 by MysteriousBtrain

Lance Posted September 28, 2014 Share #4355 Posted September 28, 2014 No offense, but this is getting crazy for no real reason. Nukes and hijackings? I guess I shouldn't have complained about all the localized earthquakes that came up a few months ago. I'm not going to close this thread, at least not yet, but can we please keep it to sensible problems. A lot of the recent situations would likely result in a complete shutdown of the subway, not the crazy reroutes that have been posted.

Wallyhorse Posted September 29, 2014 Share #4367 Posted September 29, 2014 Getting this back to being a little more realistic: Switching issues at 63rd Street-Lexington Avenue have it so any trains using that branch must go to or come from the Broadway Line (the 6th Avenue connection is out). At the same time, switching issues at Columbus Circle are sending all trains there downtown via 8th Avenue while the uptown side is not affected by this AND additional switching issues make it so trains that do get to West 4th on the local tracks in both directions MUST go to the opposite line (trains on the lower level at West 4th MUST go via 8th Avenue and trains on the upper level at West 4th MUST go via the 6th Avenue line).
