Question, would a split (5) on 7th Avenue and Lexington ever happen?

For example, downtown (5) trains operate via 7th Avenue to Bowling Green and uptown (5) trains operate via Lexington Avenue.

You mean aside from the times they've already done it?

It does happen whenever there are delays on the southbound portion of the line. Same thing with the (2) if there are delays on 7 Av, it would run via Lexington.

This was essentially the peak hour service pattern for the Lenox invert project (from FBA not BG) -- I'm pretty sure that cars got special rollsigns for it, too. @Union Tpke may have docs w/ more.

That is correct. I was thinking of that.

Grand Central to Brooklyn and the local / express platforms from 125 Street to Grand Central, both during FASTRACK closures.

This is a new one:

Quote

TRACK REPLACEMENT
May 25 - 27, Sat to Mon
(R) Trains run express in both directions between Queens Plaza and Roosevelt Av in Queens

No (R) trains at 36 St, Steinway St, 46 St, Northern Blvd and 65 St.

Free shuttle buses run between Queens Plaza and Roosevelt Av, making all local stops.

• Transfer between trains and buses at Queens Plaza and/or Roosevelt Av.

Also, be on the lookout for the (2) / (5) swap on Memorial Day Weekend. The Bronx half of the service changes have been posted.

Great, this BS again...

Not BS, the (5) will actually run the whole weekend, even overnight, good for Lexington Avenue (4)(5)(6) and lower White Plains Road  (2)(5) trunk lines.  The swap will be the only time the (5) will really run on weekends at all.
