If their numbers are 2195-2209 (15 units) and 7109 and 7116 are long retired, doesn't that mean there's 16 buses going to MTA? Unless another one was retired or is used as a parts bus.

Not 100% certain, but I heard that 7115 also retired without making it to MTA. So the 15 buses to MTA would be 7101-7108, 7110-7114, 7117-7118

Does make me wonder why the MTA choose 2195-2209, and not say 2305-2319. Maybe they are reserving that for something else......

Well their 2008 series D4500CTs start at 2210 and end at 2250. They just attached the numbers to before the 2210 series begins. Before they were rejected they were supposed to be 2251-2268.

NJT has made it official today that the P-Lines are going back to Academy

Are the Bergen County lines staying at Community?

Academy Hoboken is supposed to receive those Passaic Lines in September

Which lines are considered Passaic County vs. Bergen County? (I know right now they have the 700-series routes that aren't operated by NJT, but I thought they were all operated in one contract out of a garage in Paramus)

I believe Passaic County Routes are 702, 705, 707, 709, 722, 744, 746, 748, 758.

Remember Saddle River Tours won the contract and ended up running the Bergen County routes years ago, but most of us know what happened to them that NJT had to take back the routes and buses. If they were in good standards, they would probably run both the Passaic and Bergen county routes respectively. Coach USA - Community took over the Bergen routes along with the buses. Both county lines and buses were all under one roof in Paramus. Before Saddle River, Academy Express ran the Bergen county routes.

Well at least the 30 something buses that Academy are gonna take from CUSA- Community will look sharp exterior wise and clean ads compared to NJT Market St garage. If there wasn't a bidder out there for the contract and CUSA went defunct, NJT would not have a choice but to take the routes back and give it to Market Street garage

Expect a service discontinuation en masse if this bill passes. Everything that is marginal will get whacked on the same day everywhere in New Jersey.

Quite frankly, instead of doing this, why not FUND some of these services. Every single one of these companies that went out of business had pleaded with NJ government officials and NJT to help fund them instead of leaving them in the dark.

NJT doesn't want to fund private carriers unless absolutely necessary because some of those operators are only marginally cheaper in operating cost than NJT.

Then NJ shouldn't expect them to keep running in the red. Doing this is a slap in the face to those companies.

According to a Howell driver, the leased MCI buses from 2006 were actually originally numbered 9054-9073. In 2007 they were renumbered to 7101-7120 to tell them apart from the 2006 D4500CLs. Little is known about these buses since they were only at NJT for two years. Can anyone confirm if this is true? Thanks!

Those buses was from company called “Trentway-wagar” until the 2007-08 D4500CLs “7121-7187” arrived. They had lavs and some was based at Howell and some Meadowlands.

Yeah those were part of a two-year lease when 9001-9053 delivered. Do you have confirmation on if they're numbered 9054-9073 before 2007? They were originally those numbers before being renumbered to 7101-7120 in 2007 according to a driver from Howell. Just wanted to get another source to confirm since I never heard of them having those numbers.

After getting confirmation, those buses were never numbered 9054-9073, they have always been 7101-7120. Now I don’t know the numbers from the company they were leased from but in njt service they was 7101-7120.

its the commuter route Community Has (the 77). Haven't heard anything since though.

I got told that in addition to losing the P lines, the Bs are going too.  Final nail in the coffin for Community?
