Due to signal problems at the 86 Street Station:

Some northbound 4.png trains are terminating at the Atlantic Avenue Station or the Brooklyn Bridge Station.

Some southbound 4.png trains are terminating at the 149 Street-Grand Concourse Station.

Both directions 5.png trains are running on the 2.png line between the Nevins Street Station and the 149 Street-Grand Concourse Station.

Please expect delays in both directions on the 4.png, 5.png and 6.png trains at this time.

I'm assuming it a precaution so the MTA can be ready for the storm. We might see more changes going on throughout the night.

Haven't heard anything official, but they were calling for high tides today 2-3 feet above astronomical highs,

Given Lenox Terminal - and the approach tracks - low elevation, open-cut nature and proximity to the Harlem river I'd presume they're either damming it off to stave flooding, or perhaps they're just cutting power to the tracks up there, maybe even removing equipment, so if the water floods over the approaches it at least doesn't short everything out.

Either way I think it's safe to say that after Sandy they aren't taking even the slightest chance.

I saw them laying up B train R-68's on the Broadway line between Times Sq. and 57th St, presumably because they were worried about CIY flooding as well.

Service Change Posted: 12/27/2012 8:33PM

Due to a police investigation at 40 St Station, there is no 7.png train service in both directions between Court Sq Station and 74 St Station.

As an alternate, customers are advised to use the Q32 bus.

Please expect delays in 7.png train service at this time.

It must have been a pretty serious issue to prevent all 3 tracks from being used. Something tells me this problem lies on the tracks…

Due to rail condition at the 168 Street Station, downtown (1) trains are running between Van Cortlandt Park-242 Street Station and the 168 Street Station in both directions.

Uptown (1) trains are running between South Ferry Station and the 137-City College Station in both directions.

Please expect delay in (1) train service at this time.

Wow so South Ferry is back up!

Due to a rail condition at the 86 Street Station: the following service changes are in effect:

Downtown 4.png train service are running with delays.

There is no 5.png train service leaving the Nereid Avenue Station.

There is no 6.png express train service leaving the Parkchester Station.

Please expect delays on the 4.png, 5.png and 6.png train service at this time.

SubwayTime doesn't show (4)(5) running local, so what exactly is the "rail condition" that affects both levels of the station?

(4) / (5) didn't run local, but the (6) was fubar this morning. Waited 15 minutes for a train during peak rush hour, naturally the train was crushloaded as well so each station took ages to get out of (felt bad for the C/R, man sounded desperate). Got to work a solid 20 minutes late, happy times.

I saw a downtown (C) train on the express track earlier at 14th Street. (About 2:15-2:25)

Got this alert earlier

2:16pm:
MANH, A,B,C & D trains, Smoke condition

Following an earlier incident at 59 St, A, B, C & D train service has resumed with residual delays.

Didn't get an alert for the start of this situation, but if whatever it was caused the C to run express, it wouldn't be able to go local again until chambers (correct me if I'm wrong) , which would explain it's express-ness at 14th.
