Guest Lance Posted February 12, 2013 Share #808 Posted February 12, 2013 Or you know, people could stop standing so close to the platform edge. Just saying.
lupojohn Posted February 13, 2013 Share #809 Posted February 13, 2013 Or you know, people could stop standing so close to the platform edge. Just saying. 63rd and Lex. No choice on that platform. Not where the incident happened, but with construction, that's the narrowest platform i've ever been on. You don't really know how close this woman was standing to the edge.

I take it you don't ride the Brighton line much. There are much narrower platforms..
CenSin Posted February 16, 2013 Share #812 Posted February 16, 2013 I take it you don't ride the Brighton line much. There are much narrower platforms.. People: visit Newkirk Plaza and walk to the southern end of the south-bound platform. I kid you not that when the and are both platformed with their doors opened, you could make a leap from inside one train to the other.

lupojohn Posted February 16, 2013 Share #814 Posted February 16, 2013 I take it you don't ride the Brighton line much. There are much narrower platforms.. Not from Dyckman, no. People: visit Newkirk Plaza and walk to the southern end of the south-bound platform. I kid you not that when the and are both platformed with their doors opened, you could make a leap from inside one train to the other. Looking at a picture of it, there's much more room to stand back than at 63rd and Lex. Canal Street on the and line is pretty narrow, too.
Grand Concourse Posted February 16, 2013 Share #815 Posted February 16, 2013 (edited) N/Q, but yes that is pretty narrow as well. I haven't been to lex-63rd since the construction, but I kinda doubt they are that bad. But I will see for myself eventually about how narrow it is there. Really bad timing for the rush hour commuters. Why couldn't they run the from Times Square-61st woodside. As for the flushing section could they send a replacement bus if this continues from 61st- Flushing
