alejr88 Posted July 11, 2013 Share #2205 Posted July 11, 2013 R188 7811-7815 just got transferred uptown via the 6th Avenue line and CPW, according to Daniel and someone else. Also, 7216-7221 is back at E 180 St Yard. I really don't think the R188 is going to start service next month. I saw that set at 125 Street on Tuesday night. Probably went to 207 or Concourse.

R62AR33 Posted July 12, 2013 Share #2207 Posted July 12, 2013 (edited) In all my years railfanning the subway, I've only once noticed dead motors (on an R160A ). The issue I notice on a slightly more often occasion on the R142A's are "stuck" brakes, or tread brake application in the dynamic brake speed range (35-10 mph). Iv noticed that as well. Vistausss Posted July 14, 2013 Share #2208 Posted July 14, 2013 I saw that earlier in this thread a video from BroadwayExpressN was posted of an R188 leaving Woodside. He also has a newer one of an R188 entering and leaving Hunterspoint Ave:

Fan Railer Posted July 16, 2013 Share #2217 Posted July 16, 2013 Wonder when it starts... When we see a full 11 car set down at Corona, then soon. Actually when you think about it, won't they be required to run two 30 day rev-test trials? You know, one for the conversion R188s and one for the fully new R188s?
LTA1992 Posted July 16, 2013 Share #2218 Posted July 16, 2013 (edited) Well, I guess so since the converted 188s have a new 188 C car in each set. If it were all Converted cars, then I doubt it would. Edited July 16, 2013 by LTA1992

RTOPRO Posted July 17, 2013 Share #2220 Posted July 17, 2013 Nothing is going to happen until 7216-7899-7220 Make the trip over to Corona and even then none revenue testing has to be done with those cars attached to 7211-7215 on the line.

realizm Posted July 21, 2013 Share #2224 Posted July 21, 2013 (edited) Edit: I see what is causing the reforcasting of the testing, conditional acceptance testing and completion of delivery of the R 188's. The delays are due to the damage done on the IND Rockaway line from the hurricane.(Thanks to Gold_12th from subchat.org for the tip) http://www.subchat.com/read.asp?Id=1236002 Edited July 21, 2013 by realizm
Woodside7878 Posted July 21, 2013 Share #2225 Posted July 21, 2013 I knew it was the Rockaway test track that cause the delays to the delivery of the R188 to revenue service, those who responded negatively about the Rockaway test track that I mention before there is proof.
