I should mention by base I mean the square on the bottom part of the turnstyle above the MetroCard swipe. If that doesn't count then I apologize for the mistake.

I find it a bit funny that Visa/Chase invested millions into the OMNY system but then they don't do any promotion. MasterCard on the other hand, is running the Fareback Fridays promo. Visa probably cares more about issuing contactless cards first and foremost so consumers can spend their money on things other than transportation. Just my thoughts.

They’re pumping money into our system and you also want a free ride? You’re absolutely right though— the more you tap at the turnstiles, the better chances of you tapping at a Duane Reade, etc.

Maybe their contract says they cannot make promotions. VISA and Mastercard are brand-names and don't issue cards - banks do, and only several large banks offer Contactless cards.

Active as in they're showing the coming soon screen or active as in they're fully working?

They are working. I do think it is still WIP for this station though because the OMNY readers exiting the say Coming Soon while the readers entering the station are fully active. I think within the next few days both sides will be fully active.

Both 86 and 96 were active (accepting payment) on my way home today. I posted it to a Facebook group where I got confirmation it's also on at Woodlawn. I think given it's also on at 68th, it very well may be activated from Grand Central to Woodlawn as of today
