I don't think it's pending scrap it will be scrapped the bus is 16-17 years old.

There will be an investigation of what went wrong while the bus sits at ECH---i.e., did the dispatcher wrongly put that bus on the service track in the garage?

There is no Service track, if the bus faces inward then it's OOS or it could be in service they just parked it like that. The bus could've caught fire due to electrical problems, no ventilation or the compressor could've blown up. That's what happened with 9246 at Ulmer Park, bus was on the B3 and the compressor blew up, I was actually on the bus.

From what I hear SC is still loaning C40LFs to JFK, 497 is on the Q60 as of now. 

Oh, and while typing this I just heard that 595 is on the Q60 as well. This means the SC Orion V CNGs may stay a little longer!
