The parking annex should have been built with another floor. MHV was constructed with the structural beams going straight up through the roof. This was so another building could possibly be erected on top of it. I wonder if the KB annex was built inn the same way.

Either way that depot needs an overhaul.  I think because of the location, not too many people are up in arms about all of the buses I see parked on the side streets by the depot, but with them getting all of these new buses are more artics, they need more space for sure. I would think with the amount of empty lots there that they could acquire more space fairly easily since I don't see anything else going there.

The building itself is relatively new, it opened in 1993 (being rebuilt from scratch in 1990) and it replaced the older building from 1890.

Well you gotta factor in fleet expansion compared to when it first opened, plus the fact that artics take up more room.

If you look at all the depots built since 1996 (when the first D60s came in), only one built with artics in mind was new Hale. Every other depot had to be reconfigured and/or upgraded in one way or another to hold artics. Quill is a toss-up since that was an old Greyhound facility and its large enough as it is. Grand Av has to have their lifts accommodated for them, despite being built in 2009.

Don't forget 100st was built to accommodate only 60FT

Not quite. The rebuilt 100th Street can accommodate standard buses, but can't handle the longer turning radius of the RTS. It briefly housed Orion VII's for the M96/M106.

And they store hybrids there during the winte in case of Winter Weather plans.

Oh btw I saw a NG 45xx series on the Q54 while I was on the B60 with KB Decals. Couldn't get the entire but number but if anyone knows which number, that would be great

Which neighborhoods do you feel "deserve" those buses?

Deserve what buses? The new ones? Riverdale would shout the most. We've had several transit meetings and one topic of discussion is having buses that pollute less, including the Metro-North shuttle buses, so I welcome the new buses, even though I rarely use them, save on week-ends when I don't want to walk the entire way to our Metro-North stations.

All of the current buses pollute the same amount of exhaust

EDIT

The CNGs are actually cleaner, but not by much
