tvega961 Posted March 3, 2011 Share #1 Posted March 3, 2011 Probably nothing special, but when i saw the set of the 5 cars of R160A on the Q, the lights were more of a very Dark Blue then the other 5 cars towards the front. I don't know if you can tell...but you can witness it when you happen to find the set...again probably nothing interestin, but i wanted to share it  here it is And also a Video (Might not be able to see it) EDIT: I think i put it in the wrong thread...>.<

Roadcruiser1 Posted March 3, 2011 Share #4 Posted March 3, 2011 What The Fu*k. Tell the fu*king to install fu*king regular lights right now in those cars. Even looking at the video it hurts my eyes, and I wear glasses.
Broadway Local Posted March 3, 2011 Share #5 Posted March 3, 2011 These happen to SOME R160As but not R160Bs. The blue lights are too bright! Regular Lights are better!
trainfan22 Posted March 3, 2011 Share #6 Posted March 3, 2011 I seen and ridden in this set quite a few times, Love it! All the new MTA vehicles should these lights IMO, it would be cool to see em on the IRT techs.
TrainFanatic Posted March 3, 2011 Share #7 Posted March 3, 2011 I remember catching a few five car sets with the bluish lighting. It doesn't make the interiors look as blue as it does in the photo. Of course, there has to be a good reason behind this. Also, lets be real. If the lighting really hurts your eyes then get 'em checked. The lighting really isn't bad at all. Queens Surface Posted March 3, 2011 Share #8 Posted March 3, 2011 Yeah, that is the LED Lighting test set out of CI. Who knows maybe all future subway cars may come in with LEDs. Since all new MTA buses have LEDs now.
Lexington Av Local Posted March 4, 2011 Share #9 Posted March 4, 2011 Actually, i think i rode on an R142 on the this week that had Blue LED lights. The train was pretty empty and i looked through the window and the other car had blueish lights, exactly like the R160 in the video.
dman1455 Posted March 4, 2011 Share #10 Posted March 4, 2011 What The Fu*k. Tell the fu*king to install fu*king regular lights right now in those cars. Fresh Pond Posted March 4, 2011 Share #11 Posted March 4, 2011 Wirelessly posted via (BlackBerry8520/5.0.0.900 Profile/MIDP-2.1 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100) LED lights are cheaper in the long run since they can last longer before being replaced unlike the standard ones Another cost-cutting measure by the lol
lilbluefoxie Posted March 4, 2011 Share #12 Posted March 4, 2011 does everything look all blue and stuff inside?

Bonanza123d Posted March 4, 2011 Share #14 Posted March 4, 2011 Well... I think they should use a "softer" version of the LEDs. I think it would be somewhat better if it was not blue. How about a softer blue and more white?
Calvin Posted March 4, 2011 Share #15 Posted March 4, 2011 i once rode this set and a MTA conductor on the tells me its ''3D lights''

Nova RTS 9147 Posted March 4, 2011 Share #19 Posted March 4, 2011 Nice catch, been wanting to find that set. Lol, I see it all the time. But because I take the , I don't get the chance to ride it. These lights really arent harsh. Its almost as soothing as the R143 lights that reflect off the light gray walls.
