Acela Express Posted March 12, 2013 Share #5781 Posted March 12, 2013 They really need some short turn B41s at the Junction. these school kid crowds are just insane. That or they should stop sending down so many dead heading buses and make them at least pick up some riders and make limited stops to at least av P.Those deadheads you see southbound are 49s terminating at Foster & Flatbush Aves. As I said before, they have PM rush short turns going to Bergen Beach at the Junction.. There's a 5:44pm, & 6:05pm There used to be more months ago, but I think they increased short turns at Empire/Ocean Ave instead (local & LTD).
Via Garibaldi 8 Posted March 12, 2013 Share #5782 Posted March 12, 2013 They are made by the same company: aesys But does that mean that they can provide various types of fonts or does that vary from company to company?

I was under the false impression they were b41s. But some b41s need to start running to the junction earlier because with all the traffic issues north of the junction, you got crowded buses and a bunch of school kids waiting on the sidewalks which is just asking for trouble. The sooner those kids are taken off the sidewalks, the better. Edited March 12, 2013 by Grand Concourse
MHV9218 Posted March 12, 2013 Share #5784 Posted March 12, 2013 Got 5404 on the M101 today, guess that's now one of the oldest artics left in the system. Still moved along, but beaten to death inside and out, bus's roof was leaking like crazy too, seats in the accordion section were soaked and the rest of the bus was wet. Much as I hate to see those D60s go, some of them have definitely met their time.

Blitz Posted March 13, 2013 Share #5788 Posted March 13, 2013 Never noticed until recently, but if you look closely, you can tell the difference between a bus painted @ Grand ave and a bus painted at Zerega...

They don't have "activated" GPS - the computer is confused with the D60HFs with BusTime software activated.

Metro CSW Posted March 13, 2013 Share #5792 Posted March 13, 2013 (edited) The MTA’s popular Bus Time program — which gives riders the location of buses in real time via text message, the web or apps — is being delayed by four months. The Bronx and Staten Island have the program. Expansion to the rest of the city was expected to be completed by the end of the year but it will now be April, officials said. All bus routes in Manhattan will receive Bus Time this year, followed by Brooklyn, and then Queens, which will be completed by April 2014. Hurricane Sandy caused damage to businesses and the supply chain of contractors working on the project, causing the slight delay, officials said. Outside of the Bronx and Staten Island, Bus Time is in effect on a handful of routes: the B61, B63, M34, M34A, M100 and Q50. #NYCDailyNews Edited March 13, 2013 by Metro CSW

checkmatechamp13 Posted March 14, 2013 Share #5796 Posted March 14, 2013 I think this is the first time I rode the S93 going out of CSI (I only rode it going towards SI before). It was basically packed. Going back from Manhattan, I saw an S48 whose signage kept alternating between "Richmond Avenue" (Or however it's abbreviated), and "Evacuation Ctr".

Inspected/Pre-tripped 8756 on Wednesday I also added the lettering to the back, as there was just a logo there :3 Also I completely did 8803's rear. It didnt have any of the stickers, just MTA logo again. Surprised the stockroom had the old school do not turn on right sticker... I don't remember doing this...

Not necessarily Assistant/apprentice i've been working with them, assisting them, doing misc. tasks for the foreman, they've been teaching me and showing me how to inspect the buses, fix things like a broken mirror, apply decals or use my electrical skills.Just one of the many things I do at QV other than clerical work.
