Looks like the (7) will be all R188s today. Smart move considering the R62As don't have "74th St-Broadway on the roll signs. Also saw 7233 at Main St today. Looks like they have solved the issue with the R142A conversion set

what do you mean 7233, did you really mean 7833

I spotted R62As 2351-2355 on the (6) borrowed from the (1) and they already have (6)<6> strip maps so seams like theyll be on the (6) for a while...

I don't think they were borrowed from the  (1) , but rather the  (7) . The  (7) is recieving R188s, so all those extra R62s are going onto the  (6) . The R142s are converted into R188s for the  (7) . Plus, R62s have been running on the  (6) since they got the R188s, I think.

Not trying to be rude man, but i know why the R62As are coming back to the (6)<6> , long story short incase u didn't know R62As ran on the (6) when they first came in 1987-2002 . They went to Flushing in 2002 because back then the R142As couldn't fit in the steinway tubes. Now that the tubes are fixed the R188 order was ordered wich consists of 380 R142As to be converted with CBTC  and 123 new built cars. Of course since all of the converted R142As are coming from the (6) the R62As from the (7) (formally from the (6) ) are being sent back to the (6) to replace the converted cars. The Easiest way to tell an R62A from flushing is the purple stickers on the bottom and the Led Lights. Also Flushing's R62As were 1651-2155 with exception of 1826-1830,1841-1900 wich are on the (1). Then the R62As on the (1) are 1826-1830,1841-1900, 2156-2475 and on the bottom they have Red stickers and don't use Led lights either.

They're only being borrowed? I was on 2309 yesterday and they put in the (6) strip maps already

Yea just borrowed until Corona can send more R62As to Westchester... and they still put their (6)<6> strip maps on them so that passengers don't complain about where are the maps at.  Iv heard from a few sources not yet confirmed when the swaps are done , Westchester and 240st will swap R62As so that Westchester yard can have R62As 1651-2000 and 240st yard 2001-2475 . Also it seems that Westchester will go back to their older yellow yard stickers cause iv started see them peel the purple stickers already especially on 1791-1795. I spotted 2141-2145 on the (7) and its now full width cab.

The 62As currently on the 6 have, for the most part, come from Corona. Easiest way to tell is the LED local/express indicators on the sides. The cars R62AR33 is talking about doesn't have those LEDs.

Interesting. So where did these particular cars come from? The (1) ?

Edit: Nevermind didnt see the posts. I did remember seeing these cars on the (7) but this was way back in April.

2351-1355 with 2306-2310 came fdrom the 1 not the 7. they are on loan till the 7 sends more 62As to the 6

I hope they don't. Hope the  (MTA) decides to do something like the  (F) with both R160s and R46s.
The 6 will mostly run R62A's, but some R142A's will still run, simply because they're not all needed on the 7.6 riders will cope the same way 1 and 3 riders cope today. For the most part, they don't even care.

About ATS, what is the difference between it and CBTC? Don't they both locate trains?
CBTC is a type of signal system, which enforces safe train separation and safe interlocking operation, much like the old wayside signals we're all used to seeing. ATS is an overlay on top of a signal system that automatically tracks trains and routes them through interlockings.

Nonsense. They didn't run on the 7 at first because they were in five car sets, because Corona Shop wasn't yet equipped to handle the roof mounted HVAC units, and because there simply was no pressing reason to run them on the 7 rather than the 6.

What was the Pre NTT (6) Westchester Yard R62a assignments? 1651 to 18xx?  I know they also had R36's at the time as well.

I don't think yellow yard stickers--or yard stickers at all--are coming back.

What was the reason for them to change the yard stickers when the  R62a went over to Corona anyways? I know they got Cars from Westchester, Livona and a few from 240th was it more for consistency

The Reason on Changing the Yard stickers from Yellow to Purple was because Corona's color is purple , it was just to know what R62As was assigned to Corona Yard.

The Pre NTT Assignment on R62As on the (6) was 1651-1929 with R29s and R36s
