What I want to know is when, if ever, will the R46s hit the (B)? I have my doubts on this happening since Concourse Yard usually only holds/maintains R68/As. I wonder what the future holds in this area?

Maybe very rarely, you may see one set of R46s on the (B) just by chance if no R68/A's are available, but I'm pretty sure the MTA wants to keep the (B) fleet uniform (R68/A's only) and there are enough R68/A's to keep the R46s off the (B).

They want both (B)(D) to only use R68s, since they both share the same yards near each other in both Concourse and Coney Island, the (B) crews does not have any problems changing the rollsigns and because they been doing that for a long time now.  Too put more R46 on (N)(Q)(W) with a few R68 sets.

you don't know that, there's 100-88 More R46's to be sent to CI so some will pop up on the (B) if they need a train

They’re not putting R46’s on the (B) even if they need a train... they didn’t do it when Coney Island had R160’s they’re not doing it now. The (B) has more than enough R68/A’s especially with the (G) using R46’s.

the R46's are a older train vs. an R160. the whole point was to have the R46's on the (N)(W) along with the (G) with some on the (B) with the (Q) having most of the R68's

Just now at the N/B platform at 34th Street there was a R46 (R) train and an R160 (N) train side by side in the station at the same time.. how rare is that these days?!?

I'm fanning so I had to choose between the two sadly, I choose the R46 (R) train since I rode a 160 (N) train more recently, however the car I was stuck in on the way to Astoria had flat wheels which kind of ruined the ride. Oh well.

The wikipedia pages for the cars currently being swapped have curiously not been updated:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R46_(New_York_City_Subway_car)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R160_(New_York_City_Subway_car)

Don't know why this is. Likely the R32 has had some more cars retired since the end of January yet it still says 106.

Apparently, all R160 Alstom cars from CIY (N/Q/W) were transferred to Jamaica (E/F/R).

Can we get another update on which R160 cars still remain in CIY and the remaining R46s at Jamaica to be transferred to CIY?

February 28 AM:  200 R-160s left at Coney Island; 88 R-46s left at Jamaica.  No R-46 on the (F) now for a week.

Several R-46 trains on (Q) now.  We can describe them as "regular."

8653-8832,8838-9942 (ALSTOM) are at jamaica yard. Every alstom from coney is gone.

6 siemens sets are over at jamaica now. 60 cars total
