NovaBus LFS Articulated Discussion

They could go anywhere..... Especially with another 418(90 Xcelsiors included) artics to follow. 72 of which will be going to BP and JFK. The rest will all be TA unites to kill off the most all the rest of the D60HF's.

I should've be more clear - that post was meant for the 90 LFSAs that are still unassigned.

MTA has been trying to get artics into Flatbush for years now, so with the current 48 being delivered starting this summer, if it's a success on the B41 & B44, you can bet they'll start pushing in more to flood our routes. Haha! That's just my "speculation" though.

I knew exactly what you meant, but my point was that because there are so many coming after that unnassigned 90, that they (the 90) could go anywhere. Especially because of the fact that FLA has never had artics before. I would imagine the TA would only send more of them after the SBS is up and running. There will be plenty to go around in the next 3 years.

Just noticing how quickly those brand new LFSAs are racking up the miles, something like 3000 miles on the 5820s already, and more for the earlier buses. Looks like they'll break the first 10k with a hitch at this point.

The new LFSA's are gonna rack up mile a lot faster than the 12xx's (at 126 at least) because the routes are a lot longer. They also have to DH a lot further to get back an forth between their depots and first stops. The average amount of miles for the 12xx's at 126th is about 60,000 which is nothing considering that the NG's we have were purchased around the same time but have almost double the mileage.

It's good to know that (Q44) will finally have artics, especially in Queens. Funny how CS is getting what FLA was suppose to get, but push them into the 6000s. The demise of the Orion 5s is closing in dangerously.

NovaBus LFSA #5802 from WF is in line training on the (Q44) as we speak! I was able to get a couple of shots which I'll post later in the week.

CS gets the Flatbush order.. Nice.

It's going to very interesting ride on the (Q44) with those artics. Since most of the streets in queens are wide, makes sense to have them on the 44.

I'm excited to see Artics on the Q44. That's gonna be a GREAT look for that line. Now my thing is what gonna happen with the artics and 126th St? What about making the M60 an all-Artic line?
guess what they already did i saw it a few times now

IMO, the Q44 should be call the QBx44 and it should be a Westfarms route. The alterations that are gonna have to make to CS to be able to house artics is gonna cut down on the amount of buses they can work on inside the depot...

So a new change in the order, 100th has started service. Lowest numbered bus is 5857, now stickered and in regular service.

Its not a change, it was planned that some of the buses from Quill that was brought over for training would be used on 100th Street routes until their actual order arrives. Once the Official buses begin to arrive for 100th Street; 5822, 5830, 5831, 5856 and 5857 will return to Quill.

Stickers, yes, someone got happy, this is the same thing that occured with 5786 and 5787 arrived at KB and ran at KB for a short stint and then was later transferred to their assigned depot, WF (Prior to this new assignment change).
