BM5 via Woodhaven Posted August 27, 2013 Share #8751 Posted August 27, 2013 Y'all goin' mad hard for a couple of CNGs, sheesh! LOL! Interesting to see 4946 and 5115 out on the 66/72 today. There's only two times of a bus' life which most fanners care about it. The start and of their lives. That's mostly it.

beeline15 Posted August 27, 2013 Share #8753 Posted August 27, 2013 Hey guys, I'm trying to catch an old bus before it retires, Where and what time is the best chance to catch an Orion V CNG, an old Bee-Line Orion V, or Orion V #1305/1306?
MTA Bus Posted August 27, 2013 Share #8754 Posted August 27, 2013 1305 & 1306 have been retired and all the bees are at Basiely Park now.
Orion VII 4 Life Posted August 27, 2013 Share #8755 Posted August 27, 2013 Hey guys, I'm trying to catch an old bus before it retires, Where and what time is the best chance to catch an Orion V CNG, an old Bee-Line Orion V, or Orion V #1305/1306?1305/6 are gone. The O5 CNGs can be anywhere out of CP/LGA (mostly LGA now) but apparently one does the 5PM on the dot Q19 out of Flushing every weekday. The Bees are all at BP and they don't really run outside rush hour.
beeline15 Posted August 27, 2013 Share #8756 Posted August 27, 2013 What routes are the O5 CNG's usually on?
Turbo19 Posted August 27, 2013 Share #8757 Posted August 27, 2013 What routes are the O5 CNG's usually on? The Q67 was one as of late, though that seems to have changed. If you'd like you could try your luck there.

mtattrain Posted August 27, 2013 Share #8759 Posted August 27, 2013 The Q67 was one as of late, though that seems to have changed. Their runs are sporadic and must be hunted down by other busfans before the rest of the busfan pack gets to the bus lol.

Well that's the situation with the remaining #9800's in general. Reason I suggest the Q67 is due to #9899 being a repeat throughout last week. Ultimately it's up to the individual to decide what they want to go after, if they do choose to at all.
GojiMet86 Posted August 27, 2013 Share #8761 Posted August 27, 2013 You can try Queensboro Plaza in the rush hour.

4P3607 Posted August 27, 2013 Share #8763 Posted August 27, 2013 There's an Orion V CNG on the Q72 at the moment. I don't know what the number is, I heard it twice now. Should be getting close to the airport now, probably the last run.
Cait Sith Posted August 27, 2013 Share #8764 Posted August 27, 2013 9999 was on there once last week.... There is no 9999.

mta B43 Posted August 27, 2013 Share #8767 Posted August 27, 2013 Anyone seen an old C40LF today? I'm at 5th Ave right now. Not sure but there should be one at Grand St at around 6:47 heading to Box St so it should leave prospect pk like at 6:05 something like that but I'm not sure. I'm saying this cause I saw an old C40 at 6:47 at Grand St and then the next day I saw another one at around 6:45
XcelsiorBoii4888 Posted August 27, 2013 Share #8768 Posted August 27, 2013 There is no 9999. He was referring to 9899 as you can see he quoted a post about 9899.
Turbo19 Posted August 27, 2013 Share #8769 Posted August 27, 2013 Enough with damn #9899! Seriously. Getting back back to the topic, I hope. A random thought/question: Why is it that a good majority of the fans of the Orion V CNG's are considerably younger than the actual buses themselves? What's the logic in that, making up for lost time or something? I don't get it.

R32 3838 Posted August 27, 2013 Share #8772 Posted August 27, 2013 Well in September CP is gonna need more buses, I heard a rumor they might pull some CNGs out of storage if there's any left, if not then they'll find something to full the gap
Turbo19 Posted August 27, 2013 Share #8773 Posted August 27, 2013 I'm not sure if that's a serious question, but I lol'd quite hard while reading this on break. It is and it isn't. While I'd say it's self explanatory I would like to hear some viewpoints, especially from the fans themselves. LOL... I can't wait for those buses to be scrapped. Yeah, they seem to be dying out, slowly though. Only thing I can say about them is that they were one of the first environmentally sensitive fleets in NYC. Other than that they've aged horribly.
beeline15 Posted August 27, 2013 Share #8774 Posted August 27, 2013 I want the O5 CNG's to stay awhile along with the old Bee-Line O5s and all the one floor buses
-CT1660- Posted August 28, 2013 Share #8775 Posted August 28, 2013 9849 is on the Q23 towards East Elmhurst. probably the operator's last trip though. And about 9899, don't worry, it's still around.
