And also why did they switch the (F) and (M) routes for? Especially since 63rd Street and 53rd Street would still have roughly the same amount of trains per hour (even though the (F) is more frequent than the (M))?

The service change made no sense at all. The (MTA) needs to be a bit more clear and specific whenever they announce unplanned service changes on their website.

Probably a switch issue or something else near 36th too. Maybe a switch there to turn (F) trains onto the 63 Street line wasn't working. For (M) trains, it's a straight shot to go onto the 63 Street Line.

EDIT: Now there are some (E) trains running over the (F), according to Subway Time. Nothing on the MTA page though.

Some southbound (E) trains are stopping along the (F) line from W 4 St-Washington Sqto 2 Av and then end because of switch problems at World Trade Center.

Expect delays in both directions.

Our crews are on the scene making repairs and we hope to resume regular service as soon as possible.

There is no (M) train service between Delancey St-Essex St and Forest Hills-71 Avin both directions.

Some northbound (F) trains are running on the (M) line from 47-50 Sts-Rockefeller Ctr to Queens Plaza.

Southbound (E) trains are running local from Forest Hills-71 Av to Queens Plaza.

These service changes are because of signal problems at Queens Plaza and Queensboro Plaza.

Northbound (B) trains are running local from Brighton Beach to Kings Hwy because of damages to one of the platform edges at Sheepshead Bay.

NYC Transit personnel are en route to make repairs.

Expect delays in (B) and (Q) train service

If the issue is at Queensboro then why is QBL affected?

Assuming (I strongly suspect) Queensboro Plaza means Queens Plaza, the switches at 36th St may have been stuck normal so the (F) cant reach 63rd so the (M) and the (F) would have to swap places to keep service moving.

How does a train with mechanical problems cause a rail condition? Also it seems that this happened on the express track meaning people were and may still be stuck on this train . Happy I’m not there .Also why suspend the whole corridor.I think there hiding something

Can anyone explain the reason why I saw the (Q) via 4th Ave Express this afternoon? Or is it common to see them in that corridor at times? The location was Pacific Street.

There are some " (Q) via Sea Beach /4 Avenue Express" trains, which are technically (N) trains to 96 Street. It's just less confusing to label it as (Q) trains.

Yesterday, a R32 A set got tripped coming into Grant by that 1 shot. It was an A to Far Rock, so was full of airport passengers. They were walking people up through the train as part of it was still in the tunnel, and god, you should have seen the faces of the tourists heading to the airport. It looked like they had been betrayed on some existential level.

It then got moving again, and somehow was signed up as a 3 train.

That aside, it was good to see they were getting people out of the cars in the back. You don't want to be stuck in a tunnel for 30 mins.
