R10 2952 Posted March 19, 2022 Share #253 Posted March 19, 2022 It's a far cry from the days when NYCT used to send cars for scrapping across the Hudson to NJ.

Amtrak41 Posted March 24, 2022 Share #256 Posted March 24, 2022 Same place in Ohio MetroNorth and PATH sent all their scrap cars ? Maybe that is now for asbestos issues. LIRR sent their M-1's to both Quebec and Mexico.

They did had a good run and hopefully, more can be retained for Work service.

Powered work cars on the B Division are now retired form passenger service R42's for the garbage trains. You'll be lucky to see any R32's retained for work service. 3642/43 and I believe 3694/95 were being used for the garbage train. No more.

Calvin Posted May 5, 2022 Share #265 Posted May 5, 2022 (edited) Apparently, someone impersonated themselves as a MTA employee was caught entering the rail yard without approval/permission. Person was on a job for time then termination. Although, noted on the MTA for him on the banned list. Edited May 5, 2022 by Calvin

I read that the person was a terminated cleaner who had some unauthorized RTO keys in his possession. The article said that he was a " buff ".
