I know this is a day or 2 late but, why was/is 1201 at H.O Penn? That's Caterpillar territory..

What I find is that even though a Vendor may advertise a specific company, they do work on other components outside of just Engines or what have you. So it likely there for something other than engine work, actually after some research H.O. Penn does emissions compliance work.

Guess this is some of what's getting pushed out whatwith those LFSAs moving into regular service. Must just be the start though, since far as I know 5323 and co. still haven't been registered on MTA property. Considering it's 40 artics, prolly means at least 50 40-footers are gonna be out...

If someone could please explain why there's an Xcelsior @ Quill?

Supposed to be for some testing and so that the mechanics can be aware of the powertrain since they might get some XD60's. Even though the transmission is way different than the 40's they want to train the mechanics on the engine and all that. 4897 should come down to Ulmer Park maybe this week or next week if anything.

#495? Is it in NYCTA decals? Hope this does not affect the 600s we are suppose to be getting soon. Wonder if #491-494 also left MTA bus?

Right, and they wouldn't need all that maintenance training in terms of the powertrain anyway considering that the transmission itself is close to/similar to the D60HFs and they got the engine covered by the LFSA. They just need the training for whats under the hood, under the bus and the internals
