Around the Horn Posted October 21, 2015 Share #10954 Posted October 21, 2015 Is it just me, or are R46 brakes generally quieter/less screechy than the other cartypes? Really? I ride them semi-regularly and they are usually louder than other cars with horrible suspensions to boot...I will give u the less screechy though, that is true.
S78 via Hylan Posted October 22, 2015 Share #10955 Posted October 22, 2015 (edited) Interesting commute home tonight. So I go to Broad St to take the , a train comes in on the Manhattan bound track, dumps the air after a few minutes and then someone on the P.A. tells us to cross over to the other platform as the train would be departing from there. Of course, there were some passengers who were into their smartphones, oblivious to what was going on, so I alerted them as I made my way to the train. That very same train ended up going express after Alabama Av, so I had to get off and wait for the next one. Luckily, there was a immediately behind us. Javier Posted October 22, 2015 Share #10957 Posted October 22, 2015 I'm wondering, when 9/11 happened, were there R160's on the or was it just using R32's?

WTF, R160s didn't arrive on TA Property until like several years after 9/11, 32s didn't run on the post GOH until 2013. R42s dominated the post GOH with some R40s sprinkled in.. Even the line was still dominated by 42s at the time.. the 143 order was in its early stages.

MysteriousBtrain Posted October 22, 2015 Share #10962 Posted October 22, 2015 Brain fart...I meant R143's... There were barely any R143s in 2001. If almost none were on the , there is no way the can have R143s.

Lance Posted October 23, 2015 Share #10966 Posted October 23, 2015 Brain fart...I meant R143's... The 143s were in the testing phase of the acceptance process if they were even on property in Sept. 2001. At that time, the East was dominated by the 40M/42s.
