TheSubwayStation Posted July 30, 2012 Share #1276 Posted July 30, 2012 Can anybody find any 1990s NYC subway footage aside from Trainluvr, Transitviews, and Yolticat's videos (which I've already watched)?

TheSubwayStation Posted July 31, 2012 Share #1282 Posted July 31, 2012 What's with the propulsion on this R62A? (Video by Caitsith810) It seems to have gone through SMS, and had some work done on the motors. The Kawasaki R62s also sound a little more high-pitched after going through SMS; maybe because E-CAM controllers were installed (I think). I wonder what they changed about the R62A motors, though, since they already had E-CAM.

TheSubwayStation Posted July 31, 2012 Share #1285 Posted July 31, 2012 I don't know. What are E-CAM controllers. I don't know either, actually, but E-cam is a particular model of controller built by Adtranz.
Quill Depot Posted August 1, 2012 Share #1286 Posted August 1, 2012 How do you make these online maps? They're pretty cool!!! You use google maps. I think Chambers St is a test from the . The wants to see how badly they can treat a station.

MHV9218 Posted August 1, 2012 Share #1289 Posted August 1, 2012 Was with a friend of mine today down by Marcy and he ran out of money so he jumped the turnstile. Literally wanted to slap him, grown man and all. Looking at me all like 'did I do something?'
Jamaica Line Posted August 1, 2012 Share #1290 Posted August 1, 2012 Not gonna be specific but there's a station cleaner who likes to cross the tracks for no legitiment reason on one of our three-track section lines. Seen him do it a few times some time ago, caught him doing it again today. Must find a rush out of it because he's always smiling as he does it. Still has the kid in him lol...
alejr88 Posted August 2, 2012 Share #1291 Posted August 2, 2012 I wonder what happened down at 6th Avenue that I saw and trains rerouted via 8th Avenue local when I rode an R32 express down to Brooklyn. This happened around 6pm.
S78 via Hylan Posted August 2, 2012 Share #1292 Posted August 2, 2012 I love riding the subway late at night, but I'm gonna start avoiding the because when I rode it two nights ago, it crawled from Chambers Street to Sterling Street and I was like "Oh hell no" in my mind.

I think the west side has too much service late night between 42nd and 96th. But it's what happens late at night.

I don't know about that. I've been on the West Side at night before and all 3 services are very useful.

Mysterious2train Posted August 3, 2012 Share #1297 Posted August 3, 2012 (edited) Gorgor's maps are really nice because of how easily editable they are. There's this 'Paddle for Autism' event happening at this Red Hook tomorrow, the website for the event says to take the to the B77 at Smith-9th Sts. Try and spot what's wrong with that Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but I hate seeing inaccurate directions being given out. I'm still working on my fantasy map but it's never going to be finished Edited August 3, 2012 by Mysterious2train
CDTA Posted August 3, 2012 Share #1298 Posted August 3, 2012 Just a month old random thought: I was heading to Bronycon, so I had to take the 5AM train, and I know it left Brooklyn at 4AM, but that train was EMPTY.

Mysterious2train Posted August 3, 2012 Share #1300 Posted August 3, 2012 (edited) That, and Smith-9 is closed for rehab. I can maybe overlook that. Edited August 3, 2012 by Mysterious2train
