MysteriousBtrain Posted January 23, 2016 Share #17051 Posted January 23, 2016 (edited) Thank goodness they haven't installed those new signs on the B44SBS+ and M34SBS+ Saw that new sign on the M15 the other day.. They look disgusting. They need to go back to regular signage and amber lights. Never really understood to why didn't have the ability to use the lights for SBS+ service. All Manhattan SBS routes had that new code since December. The codes are worst on LGA bound M60s, they don't even show the destination, just flash "+Select Bus". B35 via Church Posted January 23, 2016 Share #17052 Posted January 23, 2016 What would the sight-distance impact be if all SBS used blue signs over orange/amber or the current idea of reverse-overlay? Since the newer signs are capable of full spectrum ROYGBIV, why not color-code SBS in that way? Leave orange/amber for Locals, and if you really want to get ambitious, use red for Limiteds. There won't be a red to have LTD's for, as SBS' are replacing LTD service.........
Missabassie Posted January 23, 2016 Share #17053 Posted January 23, 2016 (edited) Limited-stop signs should be green.... GREEN damn it.... Actually, express signs should be green, limiteds should be amber & purple but the MTA doesn't have the bollocks to try that. IAlam Posted January 23, 2016 Share #17054 Posted January 23, 2016 The Q44 were using their old non SBS destination signs I saw a Q44LTD to Flushing and a Q44 local to flushing right before the suspension.

MysteriousBtrain Posted January 24, 2016 Share #17059 Posted January 24, 2016 If anyone wants to check out what the SBS routes are running today, M86 is completely OG, Q44 has a few OG and NGs with the usual XD40, Bx12 has all NG and one LFS, The M34 has an RTS and 2 NGs on both routes, B44 is TBD as it is not running yet, M60 is of all standards at quill, Bx41 has all NG, and the M15 has OGs and NG. Even the S79 is a bit different today, running some 39xx NG and one Orion V.

MHV9218 Posted January 24, 2016 Share #17063 Posted January 24, 2016 A handful of artics are beginning to trickle out: one on the 86, one on the 101, etc. 9600 is out on the M79, which I'd like to see.
LegoBrickBreaker101 Posted January 25, 2016 Share #17064 Posted January 25, 2016 (edited) Today I was taking a video of an LFS on the Bx9, and the driver calls me over... At first I was a bit pissed, thinking "oh wtf does this guy want" (seeing as how the few interactions I've had with drivers were pretty bad), but he just wanted to see the video I took. He seemed to like it and ended up giving me a free ride to to the next stop (which was useless for me cuz I now had to walk back to the stop I was already at lol), but he seemed to be a friendly guy. Asked for my YouTube account and when I was gonna upload the videos of his driving Edited January 25, 2016 by LegoBrickBreaker101

NewFlyer 230 Posted January 25, 2016 Share #17070 Posted January 25, 2016 LGA Orion VII 3602 is on the Q34. I thought service was reduced today I didn't think CP would need to be loaned any buses.
Around the Horn Posted January 25, 2016 Share #17071 Posted January 25, 2016 I highly recommend you guys get some recordings of the C40LFs before they get their snow tires removed! The one I just rode on the B16 sounded a whole baritone lower with the tires sounding like a bass.

MysteriousBtrain Posted January 25, 2016 Share #17074 Posted January 25, 2016 Sounds like Q44 artics are breaking down today. When I went for the Q44 SBS, I heard one broke down on the bridge and a few other areas. All the downtown Q44 stops are not looking well in the Bx, and 3 buses are bunched up, the first going to flushing.
paulrivera Posted January 25, 2016 Share #17075 Posted January 25, 2016 The Bx12 SBS seems to be suspended between Pelham Bay and Bay Plaza. There's crazy gaps in service and the buses that are actually running are all short turning
