FLX9304 Posted December 27, 2023 Share #6303 Posted December 27, 2023 Say if the Bronx wants to continue to use NovaBus LFSAs. Then the new XD or XDE60s (whichever they order) should go to MQ, then all Novas used as + buses at Quill can go to the Bronx for local service, while their + buses get Xs for their + routes. Same goes for Hale’s if they decide to keep the in the long haul (spring pick ‘24 being the latest). FLA could sweep the X order off the bat, but wait until the Brooklyn & Queens redesign takes effect, then we can start talking about it

The fleet uniformity idea was pretty much thrown out the window ages ago.
xD4nn Posted December 28, 2023 Share #6305 Posted December 28, 2023 All TA Queens limited runs are being kneecapped for the week. Unknown as to why it is only being done on TA Queens routes and not any other routes.

If the route has a local variant running at the same time, then it is likely not running this week (there are certain exceptions). This week has lower ridership than normal as many people call out or take vacations of some sort. They just don't publish the schedules like they do for the express buses. Queens is running reduced weekday schedules (along with the rest of the boroughs EXCEPT Staten Island, they are running on weekday school closed schedules), don't expect to see much limited service, if at all. These schedules are generally used on certain days where schools are closed and ridership is expected to be lower than a typical weekday with no school. The reduced weekday schedules are used on MLK Day, Columbus/Indigenous Peoples' Day, Black Friday, and during the Christmas/winter recess from December 26-31. All other federal holidays get either Sunday or Saturday schedule
TheNextGen2009 Posted December 29, 2023 Share #6308 Posted December 29, 2023 That explains why I didn't see any Limiteds on the Q46 yesterday, but also had my head scratching at the Springfield Blvd short turns later in the evening.
Brillant93 Posted January 26 Share #6309 Posted January 26 When the Jamaica bus depot is rebuilt, is there any possibility that the Q44 will be relocated there since it would be able to handle artics?

JoshTheScrub Posted January 26 Share #6311 Posted January 26 Correct me if I’m wrong the XD40s are still under delivery to JFK and LaGuardia once they start retiring the NGs?
MysteriousBtrain Posted January 29 Share #6312 Posted January 29 (edited) It should be noted that as of today's bus committee presentation, it's said that the 60 AEBs (4965-5024) is underway for acceptance for 4 depots. That means there is another cut besides Jamaica depot. Most likely the cut depot is Charleston or ENY as the other 3 have tested a kind of XE bus, the latter I'm going with bc I'm not sure ENY finished with construction with their own projects there yet. If I was a bettor in this situation. I could see East New York getting bumped out of this and for not just only because of the construction in lieu at the current time.. Just some observations I've noticed that when 4965 and 4966 were at Grand for about a month those buses never made the trip to East New York (unless I'm wrong and willing to take accountability) those units went into revenue service only a handful of times while at Grand. So, my guess is the following: GA > MQ > KB > CH. Don't know which order the assignments may be. However, I can see EN being out.

As of 6 days ago, the deployment is still at 5. Whether or not it stays that way remains to be seen. All five depots are currently scheduled to get them, Jamaica not included. It might also be the wording in the presentation that makes things sound iffy, but lets wait and see. One of the XEs did visit ENY recently as well.
