Unplanned Subway Service Changes

Due to a rail condition at Fulton St, the following service changes are in effect:

Southbound a.png and c.png trains are running on the f.png line from W4 St-Washington Square to Jay St-Metrotech.

Expect delays in a.pngc.pngf.png and m.png train service in both directions.

Allow additional travel time.

It's amazing how many people at Fulton St trying to go to Brooklyn were utterly confused.  :o

It would be nice if there was a transfer to the (R) train available at Fulton Street, since that goes right to Jay Street. Otherwise, you're forced to make do with the (2)(3)(J)(Z) and then likely a bus after that.

There is no g.png train service between Bedford-Nostrand Avs and Church Av in both directions.

There is no a.png train service between W 4 St-Washington Square and Euclid Av in both directions.

I wonder why they couldn't just have the (A) terminate at Broadway Junction. There's crossovers both east and west of the station, and at least it has other connections to Manhattan.

Wow,today there were many Problems. The (L) was, shut down from 8th to Myrlte.Queens Blvd was shut down for an hour this morning. And then the Bergen street signal failure.Plus some rail conditions. That was really crazy.Im sure some (A),s went to the junction.why couldn't they as you said. This was a day though I'm sure the MTA will never want to repeat.

For whatever reason, (B) and (D) trains were suspended running into the Bronx. Ended up waiting for 30 minutes at 34th Street before I decided to get the (N)(Q)(R)...

Nope there was a huge gap because of the rail conditions. I was in that mess. They had to send a really late (D) Train CPW Local (Bronx Bound) because Northbound (B) Train service was already suspended and there was a huge gap with Uptown (A) Train service because of the Brooklyn Incident.

I'd totally love to know these incidents...

-Rail condition at 103rd and/or 86th

-Train broke down on the express track between West 4th and 34th

-Rail condition at Fulton Street

-Switch failure at Jay/Hoyt/Bergen

(A) was suspended between 2nd Avenue and Euclid Avenue

(F) was suspended between 2nd Avenue and 4th Av-9th St.

(G) was suspended between Bedford-Nostrand Avs and Church Av.

Motives behind (B) suspension:

Some (F) trains ran via West End and the Bridge

(A) and (D) trains were running local on CPW due to broken rails

Trains were behind schedule with the train that had mechanical problems on 6th Avenue

Delays were compounded by heavy ridership from the Yankees game

Motives behind (C) suspension:

(A) and (D) trains were running local on CPW due to broken rails

There was another broken rail at Fulton St

After the problems at Jay/Bergen/Hoyt, there was no way to get (C) trains from Manhattan to Brooklyn since both possible routes were unavailable, and there was no place to turn trains on the Manhattan end (WTC was too busy with (E) and leftover (A) trains, 2nd Avenue was maxed out with (A) and (F) trains.)

The (B) should have still ran in Brooklyn IMO, but then again there was no more room at DeKalb since they were handling rerouted (F) trains. God knows how many other trains got rerouted that we don't know about.

So where did the left over R68's and R32's from the (B) and (C) go in all this craziness?

The (B) suspension was caused by the rail conditions on the CPW Express Tracks not by the 6th Avenue incident nor the (F) Train incident. Was in that mess yesterday and what happened was the last Northbound (B) Trains was in The Bronx when they decided to suspend the line, the southbound (B) Trains were still Uptown as of 6:05 PM because they were already on the road once they announced (B) Train Service was being suspended. Keep in mind once the train is already on the road once they announced the line is suspended, those trains keep running to it's terminal and will go OOS to the storage if needed to although whats funny was once the (B) Trains that was already at Brighton Beach was sent to storage, CPW rail conditions was fixed, they had to use a few of those (B) Trains that were Brighton Beach to run back in service Uptown but the (A) Train remained local for the rest of the day while the (C) was done for the day.

The (F) via West End had nothing to do with the (B) suspension because 1. It was every other (F) Train that went via West end and 2. This happened many times in the past when something like that happened on the (F) Train before during the Rush Hours.

I do not know if this is the appropriate thread for this change on the N Train beginning tonight at 11:30 PM and continuing till Monday at 5 AM and my source is the Bay News and it is also on the MTA  website.

The N will be running via the West End Line all weekend in both directions with shuttle bus service being provided between Coney Island and 36th Street.

Nah this isn't the appropriate thread, the planned service changes thread is the one you're looking for.

Service Change

Due to FDNY activity in the vicinity of Freeman St, the following service changes are in effect and is expected to last throughout the morning rush hour and have impact on and service in the Bronx, Manhattan and Brooklyn. Most trains we have in service are stuck in the Bronx north of the incident.
(2) and (5) trains are not running between East 180 St and 3 Ave-149 St in both directions.
Some southbound (4) trains are rerouted onto the (2) line from Franklin Av to Brooklyn College-Flatbush Av.
Some southbound (5) trains terminate at Bowling Green.
<6> trains will run local from Parkchester to 3 Av-138 St.
As an alternative, take the Bx4, Bx4A, and Bx19 bus service instead.
In addition, Metro-North will cross-honor NYCT Transit passengers between Wakefield and 125 St.
Allow additional travel time.

If it's enough to make the SubwayTime server crash (or have the MTA intentionally disconnect the feed, they do that sometimes when there's widespread unplanned changes), it must be major.

I just realized I think I was smelling that fire all the way from Fordham earlier... damn what the hell is going on down there?

When I passed by 3 av this morning, there was this 40 ft shuttle bus that was packed to the max and left a monsterload on the street.

And guess what, now everyone in my school has an excuse for being late, because almost everyone in the school uses the (2)(5).

Does anyone know why 3 (J) trains get sent out of Jamaica consecutively? The (J) and (Z) use the same equipment and if they are all coming out of Jamaica, supervision should have ensured that they are alternating between (J) and (Z). My friend was waiting for the (Z) for 15 minutes from 8:15 AM; at that station skip-stop service ends at 8:30 AM, and she ended up on a local train.

The last (Z) from Jamaica leaves at about 8:13AM according to the schedule.
