So you suggest a takeover and then restructuring?

A simple re-award of the contract to another operator (Academy anyone?) would be nice. Veolia in Monmouth has proven themselves to be a shit operation, not talking about Veolia as a whole but this location.

Not really possible now that NJT has just renewed all its contracts with its contractors, assuming no-bid and without taking into account customer complaints (and they get them with Veolia).

Well they could do em like they did with pabco as in take em over and run it themselves.

Not as bad as Veolia's (though I never seem to have any issue when it comes to them) but yeah you got some drivers who have come as late as 30 minutes, there's this one guy I've talked about before who speaks bad English, is rude, and can never show up on time for anything. And the buses aren't timed very well with each other, and that's because they only have like 36 buses. If anything, NJT should take over the Middlesex ops, and order another 40 NABIs for the Middlesex 800s. But that's just my suggestion.

According to MyBus, 7213 is on the 67, en route to Lakewood. It just left Penn Station

Well whoever gets the next big order of 1500 cruisers I hope NJT will make the numbering simple. Because right now who can make sense of the MCI numbering they are all over the place. 40 footers and 45 footers mixed from 7000's into 9000's . Maybe 1000's for 40ft or 3000's for 45 ft buses. Unless they only get 45 ft buses.

Funny you should mention that. I just got to making my own roster on Excel for figuring that crazy ass scheme out, took me about 2 hours.

I'm gonna post the excel roster, though, for some clarity. I'm pretty sure that some numbers are very off and that I might have gotten the wrong model. Some of the buses I think are retired by now, but anyway, this should make it easier. I used both the TTMG roster and the cptdb wiki roster as sources:

Weird observations on the new NABIs A&C is getting...

I could not see the Clever Device touchscreen, at least not in its usual spot, and the Luminator ODK was out and open above the driver's window. I'm guessing A&C might not have liked being forced to use the Clever Device to set up the signs, IDK. Even if the touchscreen isn't there, there are still Clever Device units in the buses, since the cone-shaped antenna is there on the roof and they even do the "caution bus is turning" thing now. They just seem be like the MTA's though, running the AVM software (if A&C even uses it), the stop request ding and now the turn warning. Guess there goes any hope of the announcements being programmed for A&C, and it'll be interesting to see if the rest of the PBL NABIs are built like that for Broadway Bus and CUSA.

There were also 2 RTSs on the 4 today.

Unlikely already suggested a takeover of 800 routes then a complete overhaul that replaces most of em except 819,818&817 merging em into commuter routes that also pass through SI to different parts of Hudson county too much to go over in one post with more LTD routes in Hudson county. It would go way over your head if I wasted it here. It involved way too much balls to work. Plus due to supply I doubt they would have been able to pull it off anyway.

Wow you put some work in to that nice. Maybe next batches will be simple to post. 1000-1600 will be free soon and all 2000 3000 and 4000's will be free by then too. 3000 and 4000's would be perfect for new cruisers when the time comes.

Well yesterday after work, I did some fanning.

We start at Brunswick Square Mall, where I caught:

6174- 818 to New Brunswick.

Man this bus was crowded, like 815 on a Saturday crowded.

Then I arrived in New Brunswick where I didn't have to wait long for:

6159- 810 to Woodbridge Center

They need to take that bus off of Route 1. Its full of SI-ers going to Menlo to do there shopping.

Stopped over and grabbed something to eat in the mall before catching:

5648- 48 to Elizabeth

Okay, now this bus was PACKED. I was lucky to even find a seat, but it became less packed as we traveled along. Mind you it was pitch black and I had no idea where I was. Once I got to Elizabeth, I walked to catch the 62, where I gave $2 to a beggar before catching:

5596- 62 to Newark Penn Station via Airport/Ikea

Not really much about this ride, except when I got off and ran across Raymond Blvd, and tried to flag down a 67 which sped right past me no matter how much I tried to get the driver's attention. Angry, I went into Penn Station to file a complaint, but they weren't open so I have to report the guy when I find the time.

Anyway, I ended up spending damn near $10 on a train ticket back to Matawan.

I thought the 48 and 62 had an actual transfer point? I would have rather they left the 62 alone if that was the result.

I don't know whether to post this here or in the MTA forum but MTA's Trip Planner has a couple of NJ destinations (Newark-Penn and Meadowlands in addition to the intermediate NJT stations for MNRR's West of Hudson service) and actually displays accurate (more or less) NJT train info.

I'm going to the Meadowlands tomorrow and it's nice to see that I don't have to go to two different websites to get travel directions. Only problem with MTA Trip Planner is it doesn't display NJT Line names (like NEC, Long Beach Branch, etc.), it will just display "TRENTON TRANSIT CENTER bound NJ TRANSIT train."

Another thing I noticed, this time its about the PCCs that are left:

First; any word on the proposed loop to be built at the old Military Ocean Terminal in Bayonne? I know they have 8 PCCs wrapped and waiting to be refurbished at the HBLR shop but why don't NJT use them for special ssrvice on the HBLR?

And the same goes for the Newark Light Rail. I happen to take it from Grove St to Penn Station and I saw 2 of them sitting outside the shop rusting and falling in disrepair. Does NJT uses them for maintenance cause if not why not refurbish them for special service like a throwback theme/day?
