NewFlyer 230 Posted August 23, 2014 Share #2826 Posted August 23, 2014 I'm still surprised to see the R42's running on weekends and late nights. So if I'm not mistaken there are 50 R42's left however only 48 get used for the and and there are 222 R32's right?
RollOver Posted August 23, 2014 Share #2827 Posted August 23, 2014 Yes, there are still 50 out of the original 400 R42 cars left, running on the year round. And yes, there's still 222 R32 cars left as well.

realizm Posted August 24, 2014 Share #2830 Posted August 24, 2014 (edited) Re-railing training? I see... I know what he means. They are using R32 sets to train personnel in resolving train derailments and such. Edited August 24, 2014 by realizm
traildriver Posted August 31, 2014 Share #2831 Posted August 31, 2014 I believe the R-32's have now been in service for a half-century...a remarkable achievement. I was wondering if the MTA or the Transit Museum have recognized this milestone? Parson me, if I missed any earlier discussion on this....

Micstromme Posted September 3, 2014 Share #2839 Posted September 3, 2014 I always enjoy the R32s on the Jamaica Line better than when they are on the 8th Avenue Line. Alas, the R32s will go back to the J, just as the R46s will leave the Queens Blvd Express. Sad times in bus-fanning heaven.

TheNewYorkElevated Posted September 3, 2014 Share #2841 Posted September 3, 2014 bus fanning? Wonder what's going on there...
mine248 Posted September 3, 2014 Share #2842 Posted September 3, 2014 Those R42s could be saved. But it will be costly. The R44s on the other hand are really not OK for service anymore, the exception being the R44s on SIR which are doing just fine. Somehow it's gotten that window interior (near the door removed).

ttcsubwayfan Posted September 6, 2014 Share #2849 Posted September 6, 2014 I don't buy it. You don't bring up sh*t that happened years ago in regular conversation, why do it on a forum?
RollOver Posted September 6, 2014 Share #2850 Posted September 6, 2014 The date/year of every single post in a forum is even right in their faces. How can you "possibly" expect a response after a year or so? Not to mention this site is already half dead as it is.
