bobtehpanda Posted June 9, 2015 Share #51 Posted June 9, 2015 I don't know if this has been posted yet, but it appears that Q44 SBS service will also extend to the Bronx, with no local stops.
MysteriousBtrain Posted June 9, 2015 Share #52 Posted June 9, 2015 Now the question is, will there be a replacement at those lost bronx stops?
Cait Sith Posted June 9, 2015 Share #53 Posted June 9, 2015 Now the question is, will there be a replacement at those lost bronx stops? ....there aren't that many lost stops. But thank god, the Bronx portion of the Q44 is torture.
Q43LTD Posted June 9, 2015 Share #54 Posted June 9, 2015 This is Parkchester. Transfer is available to the Q44 select bus service. I'm interested to see how this works
nuyorican Posted June 11, 2015 Author Share #55 Posted June 11, 2015 Does Casey Stengal have enough artics? There are times I see a lot of short buses on the Q44 and they are packed.
bobtehpanda Posted June 11, 2015 Share #56 Posted June 11, 2015 Theoretically if runtimes decrease, they will need less buses to run the same amount of service. But we can't really be sure until the SBS actually openss.

Same thing could be made with FB artics. 5324 left FB to Manhattan. Plus the new buses won't be here until 2016 at the earliest.
Gotham Bus Co. Posted June 12, 2015 Share #58 Posted June 12, 2015 Does Casey Stengal have enough artics? There are times I see a lot of short buses on the Q44 and they are packed. Cait Sith Posted June 15, 2015 Share #60 Posted June 15, 2015 Every time I pass CS all i see are artics frankly i don't understand how how they even have enough 40 ft's buses for all their lines Because the Q44 used to be all 40fters. Now that the line is mostly artics, you have extra 40fters laying around.

nuyorican Posted November 10, 2015 Author Share #63 Posted November 10, 2015 They have added bus lanes along Stuphin blvd, Hillside ave till queens blvd and along Main St from H. Harding Till Northern Blvd. Hopefully they enforce it. I do have have the stay that there is little enforcement in Flushing. ? Cars turn from Main St to Roosevelt even though there are signs posted not to and cars parked in bus stops and double parked cars all over Flushing. First off who speaks English over there anyway? Second, they'd have to post the signs in various languages, and even if they did that, no one would read them over there. Those folks do whatever they so please over there. They need to start having cops over there handing out tickets. The only way people will get it is if they start having to pay out of their pockets. I know right that is why I think the Q44 SBS is going to be a glorified Limited in the beginning. I know many are not going to understand what SBS and are just going to insist on paying on the bus.My only concern about SBS is what if I payed for the Q44 got a ticket and the Q20 comes first. I wonder if the driver will still let you on knowing that those two routes travel the same way in Queens.

You just have to go on the bus show your ticket and ask him/her nicely. Also the MTA stated that you SBS ticket can be used on the local version of a route. It most like folks who has not use Main St often and most likely folks going to CitiField, US Open. Last night, I even thought Skyliner on Casino Bus making illegal left turn from northbound Main St to 39th Av. I sometimes ocassionally see short turn MTA buses making illegal turn from Main St to Roosevelt Av.

The TransitMan Posted November 12, 2015 Share #73 Posted November 12, 2015 Ok so a dumb question BUT I'll ask. Once the Q44 SBS starts, the Q20A becomes 24-hr. Now will those bus stops that have "Q44 LATE NIGHT STOP" be removed and just served by the Q20A? ***NOTE: If this question was asked and answered, I apologize.***

The Q20A is getting late night service to replace the lost Q44 stops in Queens (well, south of 14 Av tbh). Every lost stop north of 14 Av will be within walking distance.#BronxitesMightProtestLostStops
NewFlyer 230 Posted November 12, 2015 Share #75 Posted November 12, 2015 I would have kept the Q44 local at night. It is not terribly slow at night like the day time is. I think the Q44's will still be packed and those Q20s may run empty. The Q44 will most likely remaining running every 30 minutes while the Q20 runs every hour.
