It's common if they are not from the U.S. because tap and go has been in place for so long in other places in Europe, etc. lol I have seen that also. It's funny because we're supposed to the biggest transit system, and we're a good 20 years behind many smaller systems. All door boarding has been a thing in Europe going back to the early 2000s.
