SUBWAY - Random Thoughts Topic

Recommended Posts

Did anybody see the video of the fight on the (D) train? All hell broke lose. I'm guessing either earlier today or yesterday? Someone broke the door fighting. Cops were called.  Train was held at 170th street and service must've been a mess.  <_< Unbelievable.

Here's a very random question. Even though both can nor will ever happen in real life, which one do you all think is more likely to happen than the other?

An LIRR M3 or M7 running on BMT subway tracks

or

An R46/R68/R160 running on LIRR or MNR tracks?

The latter. LIRR trains are too long to go through turns in BMT tunnels without sideswiping.

And we've already seen an R44 testing on LIRRs mainline

The latter. LIRR trains are too long to go through turns in BMT tunnels without sideswiping.

Man, I miss those redbirds trains. The AC on the cars may not always work but they ran like Usain Bolt on speed...

Did they really run fast or was it the illusion of running fast? For example the R32's on the QB Express seemed really fast because it was noisy and shaky. The R160's blast through Woodhaven Blvd,  there's this windtunnel type sound when going through the station.

Can Broadway Jct handle all those (M) s?? because every morning there's this long ass conga line of (J) and (M) s unless they cut the amount of trainsets per hour on the (M)

They're turning a couple of (M) trains from Forest Hills at 2nd Avenue (F) during rush hours, so at least it's not as bad as it could have been.

Perhaps they should consider terminating the (Z) layups at Myrtle Avenue instead and route them express between Marcy Av and Myrtle (kinda like what they do with the (4) and (5) layups in the Bronx in the morning.)

Why don't they run the (M) peak direction express on the El? It would probably eliminate or at least reduce the conga line.
