Major shakeups and transfers pending. For the first time in history, MTA is set to have waves of new buses come in with no concrete assignments.

We do however have to look at the buses we have coming in then do a breakdown of what's in the table.

138 XN40's 63 WF, 75 JG (I think the bulk should go to WF unless they don't plan on ordering XN60's.)

139 XD60's 44 CS, remaining unassigned and possible addition of FB, which would push all their artics to Manhattan and Bronx.

92 LFSA's unassigned BX, Manhattan possible

110 XN60's (Subject to change) JG, WF

10+40 Electric Buses EN, MQ

Note the list above is in the order the buses are scheduled to arrive.

Hybrids are also on the horizon.

They could possibly end up in Manhattan as most of the Stengel LFSA's have very high mileage on them, but its all speculation for now.

I also say Manhattan, since MJQ and TU are low mileage depots that could really use the buses. Some of the Artics that were at MJQ and TU are currently at Stengel could return back to sender.

I would of thought that FB current LFSA would stay in addition to the possible new ones that are coming in January '17 with one of the BX depots GH/KB

Would be good to see XD60's in Brooklyn. However, FB is a high mileage depot and those 53xx buses are fairly new and don't need to be moved. If anything. FB RTS to Ulmer Park and Queens to keep FB LFSA friendly.

It makes more sense to send XD60's to depots like Stengel, East New York, and Flatbush. It streamlines the fleet and it's much more efficient for maintenance and training.

Sending existing LFSA's from Queens and Brooklyn to the Bronx and Manhattan along with the new ones coming in would lower maintenance costs, and streamline things logistically.

Since the three depots listed above have significant XD40 fleets, future artics for the time being should naturally be XD60's. The Bronx has a large number of Nova 40's and 60's. So sending 4700's to Brooklyn and or Queens would be the smart move.
