Calvin Posted March 13, 2017 Share #15203 Posted March 13, 2017 Looking at the from 96 St to Canal St, wouldn't it be easier to terminate at Whitehall St?
paulrivera Posted March 13, 2017 Share #15204 Posted March 13, 2017 Looking at the from 96 St to Canal St, wouldn't it be easier to terminate at Whitehall St? Assuming the trains actually run, all trains will discharge their passengers at the last underground station and run light (no passengers) the rest of the way.

Lawrence St Posted March 13, 2017 Share #15208 Posted March 13, 2017 Not only that, I thought building Fulton Center was to minimize confusion, not make it worse.
Far Rock Depot Posted March 13, 2017 Share #15209 Posted March 13, 2017 That's what they did last time, how are they going about it this time?It depends on the line. On the A, trains relay at Euclid like the C and would have a random train run to clear the tracks outside. Which line did you see this on? I swore there were lines running phantom service during one of the storms... I know the was running ghost trains on Jerome during one of them. biGC323232 Posted March 14, 2017 Share #15213 Posted March 14, 2017 So basically they telling everyone that live near the outside stations to stay put..you could basically forget about bus service as well..they talking about 20 inches of snow...

Edit: they shut down the entire system for a snow storm back in early 2015 where they still ran train full route to help keep the rails clear and also be used by employees. But most of the time, especially when snow gets actually bad, they keep as many as possible underground and let the snow equipment do their thing. P3F Posted March 14, 2017 Share #15215 Posted March 14, 2017 Is the LIRR going to be suspended as well, or are they maintaining that service?

paulrivera Posted March 14, 2017 Share #15220 Posted March 14, 2017 Subway Time is still running, what're you talking about? It wasn't on earlier; but it will be deactivated for sure during the storm.
Lawrence St Posted March 14, 2017 Share #15221 Posted March 14, 2017 That's weird, why would they deactivate it when they have the power to change the terminuses on subway time?
MysteriousBtrain Posted March 14, 2017 Share #15222 Posted March 14, 2017 That's weird, why would they deactivate it when they have the power to change the terminuses on subway time? Probably to discourage riders from finding the train in the storm.
B35 via Church Posted March 14, 2017 Share #15223 Posted March 14, 2017 (edited) Is the LIRR going to be suspended as well, or are they maintaining that service? Unlike some MNRR branches, they're still running..... -------------------- These are the 2 trains I normally would take in the morning btw: from the LIRR twitter page: * The 5:12AM train from Atlantic Terminal due Far Rockaway at 6:09AM is being delayed at Jamaica Station due to a late-arriving connection. * The 5:11AM train from Penn due Ronkonkoma 6:37AM is bypassing Woodside to switch trouble & is 21 minutes late due to equipment trouble. agar io Posted March 14, 2017 Share #15224 Posted March 14, 2017 I have used the 14th Street transfer several times and many people use it. Me too. The problem is that it's just very long, like at Court Sq and at Times Sq-PABT. ---- Anyway, why is service from Jay St/Hoyt St,, respectively, to Church Av shut down during the storm? There are two elevated stations along the eight-stop stretch, and the seems to be moving along just fine with the shut down at 125 St.
