paulrivera Posted February 13, 2017 Share #19776 Posted February 13, 2017 Stumbled upon something interesting on the LFSA's: When you put the gear(?) in reverse, the interior lights all shut off. Is that automatically done or is the B/O required to shut off the lights manually before backing up?

I believe the lights on all low floors shut off when you put the bus in reverse.

They all do it, the best ones are the 3Gs in Staten Island where the lights slowly dim off lol

I reckon it's an anti-glare feature?
S78 via Hylan Posted February 14, 2017 Share #19780 Posted February 14, 2017 (edited) My usual options to travel home from work (used most to least) are: 1. Airtrain to Jamaica, then the ; Roughly 40~55 minutes 2. Airtrain to Howard Beach, then ; About 50~60 minutes 3. Airtrain to T5, then Q10, then ; Ranges from 65~75 minutes (Which I can't do since 121 St is closed for renovations until the summer) 4. Airtrain to Lefferts, then the B15, (but having to walk 15~20 minutes home kills it). 5. Airtrain to T5, then Q10, then Q56; If timed correctly, takes almost the same time as option 2. Option 4 has been used more as of recent. Anyone knows that it really pains to miss an especially if one has to wait on one of the branches. I was going to add something else to this thought, but it's on the tip of my tongue at the moment.... Around the Horn Posted February 14, 2017 Share #19783 Posted February 14, 2017 It appears the interior signage on the Orion 7 NG's has now been programmed for the S44.

It's Staten Island, they'll toss any bus on any route Edited February 15, 2017 by CH3348
Around the Horn Posted February 15, 2017 Share #19787 Posted February 15, 2017 It's Staten Island, they'll toss any bus on any route The difference being the interior signs and automated announcements actually worked for the S44 route.
Calvin Posted February 15, 2017 Share #19788 Posted February 15, 2017 Question in thought: Was East New York supposed to get the NovaBus LFS back then?
SevenEleven Posted February 15, 2017 Share #19789 Posted February 15, 2017 The difference being the interior signs and automated announcements actually worked for the S44 route. They're programmed for all the routes. The SBS buses that are on the local lines aren't allowed on the 79 anymore.

Are they unwrapped?Question in thought: Was East New York supposed to get the NovaBus LFS back then?It was at first going to be Ulmer to get the new LFS, but for some reason changed to ENY.
Cait Sith Posted February 15, 2017 Share #19791 Posted February 15, 2017 Which units are those? Are they unwrapped? It was at first going to be Ulmer to get the new LFS, but for some reason changed to ENY. When West Farms got a ton of their RTSs, that's when ENY got the LFSs as a placeholder.
MassTransitHonchkrow Posted February 15, 2017 Share #19792 Posted February 15, 2017 I've seen this happen on the Q50. as have I. In cold weather, I hate to wait, but I feel less comfortable in a sweaty crowded bus with 90s mildew...

Via Garibaldi 8 Posted February 16, 2017 Share #19794 Posted February 16, 2017 What's with these "free" specials? Either make passengers pay for it, or make it free 24/7, 365 days a year.

If that's the case they need to something city wide. Traffic is atrocious all around.

Calvin Posted February 16, 2017 Share #19800 Posted February 16, 2017 I noticed express buses don't have driver shields (that's outside of NYCT as well)
