Looking this over for the last hour or so. Had to point out something.

 

68+92+25+25 is 210. Seeing there is no 9410-9499 I feel there might be a mistake.

 

What I noticed is to get 210 we have to take in account that we have a 110 base order and an 84 option, totaling 194. So one more look, we get 194 in total.

 

So 9400-9415 make up the missing 16 to make 210. Would it be that another 16 buses are added to the option order or is there a possible error on assignment count?

Because there was an error on my math and I thought I fixed it. But Its Quill, Quill is getting 76 not 92. Also, 1607-1628 are the options on the Prevost, I had to double-check but the paperwork I see says 1607-1628, not 29, which means they only took 22 options and not 23. Nonetheless, the options have been taken but have not been assigned.

I mean, two things can be true at once. On the one hand, MV is getting a whole new fleet. On the other hand, MV hasn't seen a delivered-new fleet since 2006, or 15 full years. Has any depot in the system been that long? Maybe Eastchester or some of the MCI express fleets? Can't think of a single local depot.

It appears that Manhattanville is first for delivery as 9624, 9625 are in the building.  Could those eventually transfer to OH.

MTA Bus local routes really got screwed, they really about to get a bunch of hand me down NGs from NYCT. Gonna be weird to see the Q35 and Q22 be mostly NG.

 

 

I know that Flatbush B/O that posts here is gonna be really happy about those 40 XDs going to FLA. Finally B44 local, B46 local and B49 riders will get to experience the Cuomo scheme buses. It was stupid to paint those ex SBS B46 buses in the SBS scheme thus limiting their use at that depot.

 

 

I have a feeling ENY XDE40 batch will be for the B82 SBS thus bumping the XD40 at ENY in the SBS scheme to local service.

If so, I highly doubt they will be delivered in the SBS scheme since articulated buses have already been tested on the route.

It has been noted several times on Social Media that the hand-me-down-NG's to MTA Bus are temporary until they get a new bus order for themselves.

...which, based solely on history, is the likely outcome for an allotment such as this. they very well could do 20-20-20-20, or something of the sort. it's never been set in stone that any bus order will be in "perfect", sequential order.

which imo will probably be the "final" change to this order lol. i mean, 200+ units to a single yard in one shot before another yard gets their units is a bit much to expect, so it'll more than likely be a piece job. ultimately, the good news is that MV gets new units... LONG overdue (especially with the service miles their units accumulate in passenger service... not to mention shuttle work/loans to OF, etc). but we'll definitely see the sequence play out in time.

CS if Finally joining QV & JA makes senses to LFS all 3 Garages, For once ENY didn’t get want they wanted which cost more in the long run with extra parts.

It didn’t limited them as they showed up on all FLA lines before the Artics showed up.

Eventually ENY will possibly get LFS along with Grand Avenue. Since they are both CMF’s.

That might have been the case back then. But current day It limits them since FLA refuses to use SBS wrapped XD40s on the local routes of SBS routes and the B49.

Sometimes, they do put the aqua blue SBS units on the B49. Only if it does not say "Select Bus Service" from front, back and both sides.

You're referring to 7617, 7623-7624, 7628, 7643, etc.

With 291 buses, the numbering could easily have been 9701-9991.

Maybe at the EOL cycle XD will be for Brooklyn, LFS Bronx & Queens, Most electric will live in Manhattan. If they stick to this for the first time in years the MTA might get it right this time.

I based it on a scale. I looked at SEPTA’s XDE order, Midvale first batch was 25 (3225-3254) in 2019, then last year, they got another 95 (3295-3344) buses in between Frankford’s 20 (3275-3294) and 20 (3345-3364) during the “chicken schedule runs.
It was similar to Jamaica’s LFS order when they got 8090-8119 from ENY, then turned around and got 8399-8503 before handing QV 8470-8503.
