nah they usually don't suspend the (C) during Plan 4 UNLESS the weather is severe. But I'm saying Plan 4 is going to be interesting because if they still have R160s on the (C) they will store the unused ones on the 8th Avenue/CPW Express (Which has barely happened).

Nothing gets stored on 8th Ave/CPW during Plan 4. The (A) & (C) uses the Fulton St express tracks, the extra tracks around Dyckman and Euclid, and Pitkin Yard (which is covered).

The (C) only gets suspended during Plan 5, but during Plan 4, the (A) will run express in Manhattan.

When does plan 5 take place in the winter?

I think Plan 5 (weather state of emergency declared) has only been enacted once since it was added to the Winter Plan (which was a result of the December 2010 blizzard). During Plan 5, (A) service will run local between 207 and Euclid, and (C) will be suspended. A lot of other crazy changes that would make all of you foam, such as the (D) from 205 to 95 St, also occur. Note that even during Plan 5, the remaining (C) trains get stored between 168 and 145 on A3&4, and CPW & 8th Ave are still left open, but the main idea in Plan 5 is to thin out service as much as possible in order to more easily manage the snowbirds, since by the time that plan is in effect, Bloomberg has already been all over the TV for hours telling everybody to GO HOME.

Anyway, hopefully by next summer or so all 372 R160A-1 cars would be done with their SMS by then.

Another good thing is that the (C) will still get very good A/C every summer from now onwards. Perhaps keeping it at 8 cars for the next 40+ years isn't a bad thing after all just in case East New York needs to borrow a train for temporary reasons (as we all saw this past summer).

Global Citizen...Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys, Kings of Leon, lots of big names. Surprised that the C would get R68s and R68As on a weekend as opposed to just the odd R46...

Well no B's running, so I guess a free set to pick since it isn't doing anything. I'd like to catch one, but never remember these concerts nor care for them lol.

Well next year they're doing this swap again, it worked out well due to the J line itself, but don't hold your breath because once pitkin's R46s get SMS'ed they'll probably be a set or two on the (A)
