MysteriousBtrain Posted December 16, 2017 Share #22176 Posted December 16, 2017 (edited) Some artic routes are running 40 fters today, but are not fully stripped of artics. Also found some C40s on the Shuttle earlier this morning. Edited December 16, 2017 by MysteriousBtrain
Brillant93 Posted December 18, 2017 Share #22177 Posted December 18, 2017 On my way home tonight from the gateway mall I took the B82 westbound to Coney Island. Usually before it goes to the rock away parkway station it turns right o. East 96st and back around the terminus down rockaway parkway but tonight the driver turned right on rockaway and another right on glenwood rd into the terminal. I wonder if the drivers are being instructed to turn on rockaway because they’re getting ready for the sbs and the artics coming next year.

This has been happening for quite some time, some buses CI bound use E96th street, some use Rockaway Parkway to access the station, I wonder why that is. One of the only instances off the top of my head in the MTA bus system where B/O's use two different routings to go to the same place. This re-route takes significantly longer. But when there's no incident on the RFK I feel like they would kill a lot of time and beat traffic
Q64 To Forest Hills Posted December 20, 2017 Share #22182 Posted December 20, 2017 I had no idea that they had already started to install WiFi on the older buses of the fleet. 8495 out of QV has it installed and is working well.

However, it's a good thing that Wi-fi is being installed on some previously newer buses. Hoping the option orders for the XD40's, XD60's and LFSA's come in soon with WIfi equipped and information screens.
Calvin Posted December 22, 2017 Share #22185 Posted December 22, 2017 I noticed when boarding the vintage buses on the M42 on the last stop, 12 Av. When it's almost dark outside, then the buses will go back to the depot.
MTA Bus Posted December 22, 2017 Share #22186 Posted December 22, 2017 Apparently, 5444 is heading to NYC. It was spotted on I-87 earlier today.

Did the bus come down fully wrapped with New colors or in blue and white. I'm assuming that the bus is coming from Plattsburgh.
S78 via Hylan Posted December 22, 2017 Share #22190 Posted December 22, 2017 I made a post about this not too long ago, but I figured I’d update it: Express bus routes I’ve ridden: Bronx: BxM2, BxM4, BxM8 Brooklyn: BM2, X27, X28, X37 Queens: QM4, X63 Staten Island: Every route except the X4, X8, X17A
Q43LTD Posted December 22, 2017 Share #22191 Posted December 22, 2017 I'm having a bit of writers block so to speak with my tentative destination codes for Queens. Should I include the local and limited codes for the Q44 or just keep them at select?
Brillant93 Posted December 25, 2017 Share #22192 Posted December 25, 2017 I was just thinking how many people would be so confused with the new XD40s coming in with the new scheme because they are going to think it’s an sbs bus. Like if they go to Flatbush and put them on the B46 some people may just walk on the regular bus without swiping their card because they think it’s an sbs bus. The xd40s for the sbs have a similar scheme to it. I think it would be funny.

Brillant93 Posted December 25, 2017 Share #22196 Posted December 25, 2017 You think they will reroute the B15 once it becomes artic in the future? I was on my way to a family members house by the crown heights area and that’s where the B15 turns on St. John’s from Ralph avenue. But Ralph is pretty much a tight squeeze there.
Q44 SBS Posted December 27, 2017 Share #22197 Posted December 27, 2017 Haven’t post here much but any chance that the MTA would get Novabus LFS CNG or they would rather stick with the NF XN40/XN60?
Via Garibaldi 8 Posted December 27, 2017 Share #22198 Posted December 27, 2017 So these new buses coming in... Are they garbage or what? I forget which bus # it was, but it's one of the new artics that Quill just received. If it is any indication then they may be garbage. I got it last night on the M79. The signage was already broken on it. Had the new smell and everything and looked decent inside, but I chuckled to myself about the signage. I saw it originally on my way to York Avenue and happened to catch it going west a little later.
Around the Horn Posted December 27, 2017 Share #22199 Posted December 27, 2017 The sign is a different manufacturer from the bus itself. If anything, that just means the new Hanover signs are garbage
