Stengel won't be all Xcelsior anytime soon unless MTA makes a last minute decision to transfer out all the hybrids which as of right now isn't likely...

The XD60's and the (M) situation isn't really sorted out as of yet. MTA wants them for the shuttle and Manhattanites want them for the M14. Thing is the shutdown is next month so some type of decision needs to be made ASAP.

As far as the ex-TTC buses the first isn't supposed to arrive until next year and as of right now it's still a go. There was never any decision made for it to not happen. That was just someone trying to throw a monkey wrench in Trevor's original post. According to both the TTC and MTA it's still a go. Problem is some ppl are trying to stop it because they are diesel buses. The thing is, there is nowhere else to get 200 buses in time for the (L) shutdown. Especially not new buses. So it's more likely to happen than not.

SBS fleet updates:

B82 has been pushed back from this year to next summer to allow for brand new buses to be implemented on the line.

Bx6 will start this summer with XN40's, and will be converted to artic in 2018.

Q52/53 will start this fall with an expedited order of XD60's. MTA is now moving to award the contract to New Flyer in short order and have the buses run off the current order.

Pending assignment for LaGuardia Depot will likely be 6126-6178.

So the MTA XD60s are going to be delivered this year? And they are being numbered after the NYCT order similar to the MTA XD40s in LGA? Edited by ShadeJay

Yes they will be here this year. Numbers always fall in the slot they fit best in. It only depends on the when the order starts being build. Since they will be the next artics it only makes sense for them to continue when they leave off. They always do this when orders are grouped together. The only reason it didn't happen with the Orion VII OG's is because they didn't have enough numbers to group them all together.

The change in the B82 has been reflected on the DOT website. Will it use artics?

Thanks for the update.

There won't be any extra buses outside of spares. Quill didn't add a new route. When the new ones arrive according to the new plan just under half of the current D60's will be shipped out and others will be retired.

Ok this is what I was trying to figure out.

Because according to the roster MQ has 27 Nova's and 37 D60s. So in my mind I'm saying 64 buses might just be Overkill. EVEN if it's the M14. haha.

But good to know the D60s eventually will be pushed out

Yes. That's why it was pushed back to next year to allow for the option order of XD60's.

As mentioned before WF will become an all CNG depot by the end of next year.

Correct. However, the final confirmation has not come down yet. They could still end up being assigned to GA for the shuttle and after that anything could happen to them. As for the M14, there are already a couple that have hit the line out of OH which has has rush hour trippers on the line.

I wonder where LGA's displaced OG's and/or NG's would go?

RTS's would leave out first, 99s would probably head back to NYCT.  OGs would probably be moved to JFK to kill off their 96's. NGs maybe move more to ECH to knock those 99s back to NYCT. If ECH isn't slated to get new buses itself.

Can Artics even make the turns through the Roosevelt Terminal without Jackknifing?

And the proverbial rock, paper, scissors between MJQ and ENY would begin
