QM1to6Ave Posted October 5, 2015 Share #16152 Posted October 5, 2015 (edited) I noticed on Sunday for the first time that Bustime for Queens included estimated arrival times, not just distance from stop. I guess the test phase in the Bronx worked well. It was very accurate for the EXP buses I took today, but there was very little traffic on the route. We will see how it plays out with rush hour traffic this week. On the negative side, I've notice that the official MTA Bustime app has gotten really messed up since a program update last week. It freezes after you check a stop for the first time. Edited October 5, 2015 by QM1to6Ave
S78 via Hylan Posted October 5, 2015 Share #16153 Posted October 5, 2015 I noticed the same thing with Staten Island routes in terms of ETAs while checking Bustime.
DetSMART45 Posted October 5, 2015 Share #16154 Posted October 5, 2015 The minutes countdown could prove more helpful, gauging traffic delays and dwell times at stops before you. Depending on when you start tracking your bus, might be more informative as to what type of bus to be prepared for -- sardine can or an optimistic possibility of a seat.
NewFlyer 230 Posted October 5, 2015 Share #16155 Posted October 5, 2015 There is a JFK RTS on the Q64 right now!! I seen it from my window. Probably due to the Orion VII being in the accident with a car the other day.

MysteriousBtrain Posted October 5, 2015 Share #16160 Posted October 5, 2015 The RTS is likely a loan so it shouldn't really be a regular.
NewFlyer 230 Posted October 5, 2015 Share #16161 Posted October 5, 2015 It was interesting to see it because it is the first time in 10 years the Q64 ran using a RTS. I finally caught something rare in my own neighborhood.
Cait Sith Posted October 5, 2015 Share #16162 Posted October 5, 2015 The RTS is likely a loan so it shouldn't really be a regular. They are extras to replace 3698 in the meantime.
Via Garibaldi 8 Posted October 5, 2015 Share #16163 Posted October 5, 2015 They are extras to replace 3698 in the meantime. Why do they need "extras" for one bus? I could see one loaner, but why multiple loaners?
BM5 via Woodhaven Posted October 5, 2015 Share #16164 Posted October 5, 2015 Probably to keep the buses off of runs which start/end with a relief.

BM5 via Woodhaven Posted October 5, 2015 Share #16166 Posted October 5, 2015 (edited) Could be, especially since SI has a habit of doing that. 8255 is on the S62 right now btw. Edited October 5, 2015 by BM5 via Woodhaven

BM5 via Woodhaven Posted October 7, 2015 Share #16168 Posted October 7, 2015 (edited) Since when did NB Q53's run on Justice Avenue? I saw a bus on bustime along Justice Avenue, which I believe has been changed because I've never seen that routing on bustime. R188 7857 Posted October 7, 2015 Share #16169 Posted October 7, 2015 I started to notice minor cracking on the Orion VII NG's, atleast the ones running out of CS. Is this cracking from slight accidents, or is it just the bus itself deteriorating..?

Calvin Posted October 8, 2015 Share #16173 Posted October 8, 2015 (edited) Question: Has the S89 ever used an Orion V? It's usually just Next Generation Hybrids (before though) Edited October 8, 2015 by Calvin
NewFlyer 230 Posted October 8, 2015 Share #16174 Posted October 8, 2015 Question: Has the S89 ever used an Orion V?Yup several times. That was one of the first buses used on the line when it was first created. There pictures on the internet and YouTube videos of Orion V's on the S89.
azspeedbullet Posted October 8, 2015 Share #16175 Posted October 8, 2015 Since when did NB Q53's run on Justice Avenue? I saw a bus on bustime along Justice Avenue, which I believe has been changed because I've never seen that routing on bustime. that looks like a new change. I wonder where the new Q53 bus stop is at Justice Ave and Broadway. Both google maps and bustime show the bus stop at corner of Broadway and Justice Ave where the Q58 is. Does that mean the bus stop goes moved on the other side of the corner? i guess they want to try to avoid the traffic at Broadway and queens blvd.
