S78 via Hylan Posted February 5, 2017 Share #1176 Posted February 5, 2017 (edited) I know about the loop situation. I meant that the was made redundant and could have been suspended entirely. If anything it could have been the that short-turned so the wouldn't be as redundant.Don't forget, the is going all the way up to Dyre this time. Why suspend it and force people to pack onto shuttle buses and then the and ? Edited February 5, 2017 by S78 via Hylan
Mtatransit Posted February 5, 2017 Share #1177 Posted February 5, 2017 At 42 St-Grand Central I saw trains terminating at the uptown express track because of the switches. That was interesting. Forgive me for my ignorance, but was there a particular reason why the is even running at all if it's only running between 180 St and 42 St? The seem to be providing all the alternate service. I guess they wanted to provide some additional service along the Line in the Bronx and Lex Av in manhattan

agar io Posted February 5, 2017 Share #1179 Posted February 5, 2017 Don't forget, the is going all the way up to Dyre this time. Why suspend it and force people to pack onto shuttle buses and then the and ? Oops, I forgot the Dyre line was open this weekend. I see the point of the now. I must have confused this GO with the one when the ran only to 180 St, which was the pattern I was confused about. That and the is running on 12 minutes headways since it's sharing the downtown express track with the and . That makes sense. .

Around the Horn Posted February 8, 2017 Share #1181 Posted February 8, 2017 Hmmm, this has to be the first time they've put up a PDF of a station poster right?
S78 via Hylan Posted February 8, 2017 Share #1182 Posted February 8, 2017 And even though the isn't a separate line, it's rare that one would see it on a poster.

agar io Posted February 9, 2017 Share #1187 Posted February 9, 2017 The notices for the swaparoo are beginning to show up on trains. There are notices with maps in the stations as well. The maps, though, are one messy jumble.
Lance Posted February 9, 2017 Share #1188 Posted February 9, 2017 Talk about a hot mess. I understand the point of highlighting those sections of the 7th Avenue and Lexington Ave lines and the trains. However, the isolated segments do not make for a good-looking map.

RestrictOnTheHanger Posted February 11, 2017 Share #1195 Posted February 11, 2017 Nope, the and are using their normal fleets today Dont understand why anyone would think otherwise. The northern terminals aremt swapped,so there shouldnt be any reason to do a whole fleet swap for this GO

The northern terminals aremt swapped,so there shouldnt be any reason to do a whole fleet swap for this GO Not so much an entire fleet swap, maybe just a misplaced train or two at the start. The odds of even that are quite low, since CI has both R160s and R68s available if needed.

Mtatransit Posted February 12, 2017 Share #1198 Posted February 12, 2017 Massive confusion today! I had one person that wanted to go to the Bronx who normally transfer at Rockefeller Center, take it all the way to 36 St (BK) because the FIND said so...
RestrictOnTheHanger Posted February 12, 2017 Share #1199 Posted February 12, 2017 Massive confusion today! I had one person that wanted to go to the Bronx who normally transfer at Rockefeller Center, take it all the way to 36 St (BK) because the FIND said so... From what I saw, the signage on the trains was inconsistent from train to train.
Lawrence St Posted February 12, 2017 Share #1200 Posted February 12, 2017 What they need to do is make the program with the transfers that are correct. That means take out the at Atlantic Avenue, add it to Times Square, and so forth.
